Social Profile:

The Hidden Pearl is an 18-20 seat cocktail bar nestled in the back of Wanpaku offering an elevated, transportive and stylish cocktail journey in search of tropical Japan. Our menu includes craft cocktails, Japanese whisky, sake, shochu, & Japanese small plates. All dishes are recognizably Japanese, but not overtly traditional, which compliment the global beverage menu. The bar offers seating options for parties of 1-6 people. Customers are seated on a first come, first served basis.

Tucked behind a ramen restaurant, a hip spot with Japanese small plates & exotic craft cocktails.

Quite the intimate hidden gem in the back of a Ramen restaurant.

The cocktails are fancy and unique little concoctions. Andy and Sheldon were super helpful with drink and bite suggestions. The service was seamless, great music playing, good for small groups: 2-3 people.

This hidden gem behind a ramen shop is your gastropub for small bites and superb drinks!!! A must stop for those enthusiast looking for speakeasy spots. I personally love them and speaking of drinks, I love a good old fashion and this spot incorporates an excellent Japanese infused whiskey twist. All the spirits and its presentation is immaculate and so sexy.

So definitely stop by and try to get there a little early to avoid a wait during rush hour. It’s a very small and intimate spacing but worth the wait!!! Thank me later

I really loved this place when we came for happy hour, we actually stayed longer than we originally thought. The staff working here were top notch and fun to chat with, very easy to have a conversation. The drinks and small bites were perfect and made me think on how they actually made them which is a big plus. It’s in the back of the Japanese restaurant so you have to walk through that once you enter from the street. Looking forward to stopping by again in the near future!

Walking back through the restaurant is this super cool and cozy spot. The cocktails were all very interesting with Japanese spirits and delicious flavors. My Old Fashioned was garnished with a baby peach which kind of blew my mind. The bartender was the server and he was excellent and on point.

The food was delicious, the cucumber salad was memorable and the squid was tasty delicious too accompanied with roasted peppers. Top notch in every way, such that when we left it felt like we were “returning from a different dimension”… Enjoy

Excellent cocktails behind Wanpaku in a bright speakeasy. Nice skylight, Shinigamj cocktail was the favorite of several cocktails. Can also order bites from the restaurant.

Stepping into Hidden Pearl is like discovering a secret portal to the refined bar scene of Tokyo, right here in Brooklyn. The drink selection here truly stands out. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and using high-quality ingredients, each cocktail is a testament to the art of Japanese mixology. I had the privilege to visit here twice and every single time was memorable. Along with the drinks, the service was superb. If you’re seeking a truly elevated cocktail experience that takes you to the heart of Japan, look no further than this hidden gem.

Went on a thursday night to get a couple drinks.

I loved the speak easy setting that wasn’t too intimidating but casual and welcoming.

Many cocktails are inspired by and created with Japanese ingredients, which was interesting and unique. The presentations were excellent and well crafted as well.

It was difficult to predict how they would taste like since many ingredients were unfamiliar to me, at least in cocktails.

I recommend asking for suggestions if you’re going to try their signature cocktails!
But if you’re adventurous and want to try new drinks, Hidden Pearl is the perfect place to go.

Tucked away inside the Japanese restaurant Wanpaku, this small, intimate speakeasy bar is a hidden gem. With limited seating at the bar and just a few tables, it has an exclusive, cozy feel. No reservations needed–just walk right in! One of the highlights is their impressive selection of Japanese whiskeys, perfect for whiskey lovers.

– Ocha Old Fashioned – Absolutely delicious. The hojicha-infused whiskey shines through beautifully, creating a smooth and well-balanced cocktail. The baby peach garnish was a fun touch. Easily my favorite!!!

– Winter in Tokyo – A solid choice, though quite heavy on the sesame flavor. Slightly sweet with a cranberry garnish, it’s unique and enjoyable if you appreciate nutty, toasty notes.

– Belladonna – A hard pass for me. I was told it resembled a Manhattan, but it was nowhere near one. It was served with a salty lotus root chip on the side. Overly salty and unbalanced, it was honestly unpleasant. This is one cocktail I wouldn’t recommend–it should be taken off the menu.

On the bright side, the bartender was kind enough to take the Belladonna off my bill, which I appreciated. While I’d consider coming back to see if they introduce more innovative cocktails, I wouldn’t rush to return. :/

This is now one of my favorite bars in all of NY!!!

Tucked Behind a Japanese restaurant in Greenpoint, I didn’t know what to expect.

I was truly MIND BLOWN

I would say to get the the Pandan Painkiller and MMM shot. The Pndan Painkiller was the perfect balance of vanilla and grassy notes, the foam on top was great textural element, it was slightly salty on the sip, the sugar crystals gave it another depth of flavor and slight crunch. Everyone must have this at least once!
(I hope I’m describing it correctly. I would just say go try it for yourself)

If you make it for happy hour, even better, save yourself $4 bucks on that drink. $13 for happy hour!

Sophia was the bartender that day and she was great!

(Next time I come I’m trying some of the food too)
