While visiting my SIL and BIL in Hilo, we decided to have pre-dinner cocktails at this stylish gem. Walking in, you’re immediately taken in by the cool logo sign; hip yet retro decor; the mounted boar’s head on the wall; and the mod music. Then, you are served some of the tastiest, most stylish libations you’ll find anywhere. My SIL opted for the Aviation martini, my BIL went with the Iwakaluakümaha (a spicy blend of juices, liquors, peppers, and spices), the Cavewoman chose the flaming Mai Tai, and I asked for a Piña Colada which isn’t on the menu … but, should be.
We were fortunate enough to get to order from Sarah, their Lead Mixologist. All the drinks were amazing and, despite not being blended, my Piña Colada (adorned with an edible orchid resting atop some whipped coconut cream) was the absolute best I’ve ever had.
Unfortunately, we had dinner reservations elsewhere, so we didn’t get to sample the food. But, based on the cocktails, I would imagine it is definitely worth a try. Next time!

I was told this would be right up our alley for cocktails and it didn’t disappoint.
From the somewhat hidden e trance to decor to the staff to the cocktails to the food was top notch.
We tried almost half of the drinks and they were all balanced and provided something g amazing to my palette.

Really cool place! Waited for 5 minutes.
We didn’t try the food, but it looked good.
They only had 1 bartender, she rocked it but the drinks are so much to do for 1 person. We had 1 drink each, put in order for another type, after waiting almost 40 minutes we canceled order and went up stairs.
Totally worth going to for a drink, just have a lot of time on your hands.

Only had drinks, but they were wonderful – carefully crafted and balanced, interesting combinations that work much better than they have any right to. Very friendly staff as well, they were fun to talk to 🙂
Edit: had food the next time here, and it was amazing. The menu isn’t huge, but they’re all well-thought out dishes with amazing flavors.

My drinks were some of the best I’ve had in a very long time. The vibe was chic. Service was very good, not stellar, but very good. Kind just I waited with an empty glass for a while and one server threw out my half full water and I had to wait for another as well. But they were kind and friendly and the drinks were stellar, totally top notch. I truly appreciate the inventor of these cocktails.

Absolutely the best cocktails we’ve ever had. Moody Wednesday night music with Ronny just added to the atmosphere. We stayed and stayed. What a hidden gem. Smoky Bear and Trinidad Sour were the Best. Awesome bar and service team.

EXCELLENT happy hour cocktails. This is a very pretty date-night style cocktail bar serving quality drinks with super great bartenders. We had to come back for more drinks a second time on our trip! Very unique for the area as well.

Great fun to find this hidden speakeasy! This intimate setting has a large selection of cocktails many of which can be made as mocktails. Wonderful ambience with decor and music. Really lovely staff and the owner/bartender was on duty when we visited and is super knowledgeable. The staff can dial anything in if you want something more sweet or tart. Food was yummy too. Really lucky we found this spot in Hilo to make our trip to the big island more memorable! Just 30 minutes from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

The Nene was a great surprise. A small spot with a good atmosphere. Every cocktail, and we had a few, were well made and delicious. I appreciated the small plates. The prosciutto canapes and deviled eggs were tasty.
