Waited over an hour for our food being the only people in the whole restaurant. The waitress had to come back numerous times because she had forgotten the orders despite writing them down. Then she set hot items not once but twice in front of a 18 month old despite plenty of open space. Finally appetizers for brought it but the waitress thought it would be faster to carry 2 salads per hand having placed the bottom of the plate directly on top of the salad below. Once the main course was brought it it was one off the driest and UN appetizing meals ever. The “shaved beef” was over cooked, dry, bland steakums, and tasted as if it was from the night before. Over all I would recommend going elsewhere, should have realized there was a reason it was completely empty

I have tried reviewing this hotel before and it has not gone through but I will try again. My husband and I stayed here many times, through many owners, and have watched the hotel go down hill. The last time I stayed there (Sept. 2, 2013) is the last time I will ever stay there. The only good thing left there is the beautiful entrance. Another family that checked in when we did left with 10 minutes-I should have but was to tired. In the room-the floors were dirty, there were no wash clothes, the towels were not clean the bed was questionable, the whole place smelled of rot and mold. It is unbelievable how this place has gone down hill in the last 10 years.

What a gem. Totally unexpected to get such a delicious meal in a small town like Albert Lea. If you are ever traveling Interstate 90 do yourself a favor and head a mile south on I-35 to eat here. Chef John is Gifted. He came out and spoke to us about our meal. Great guy. Great food. Great value.

Worst food in Albert Lea hands down
They offered a discount to people who stay in the hotel and most likely will never be back. Maybe they should learn how to cook and treat the locals better, than someone who is just passing through. I will be like someone passing through and never come back

I travel a lot and stay at many budget type hotels and motels, and this is definitely one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at. We booked the hotel online, but when we arrived the desk person (who was not at the front desk for at least five minutes when we arrived) told us they had no rooms. Then she said they had one left and she would give it to us. (okay?) — The hotel is dingy and not well kept – very sloppy and unsightly. There is wifi but it’s extremely spotty. No washcloths in the bathroom. No coffee cups in the morning, and the sorriest continental breakfast corner I’ve ever seen. It looked like someone’s dirty kitchen table with random food items scattered around. Random people skulking around outside at night, dirty exterior (trash etc.) If it’s your last resort, it’s a bed to sleep in (albeit one without a bottom sheet…) but I would not recommend it otherwise.
