The place it’s beautiful and the food was tasty. I would say the service is one of the best ones around the town.
However I gave them the recommendation to look out for hygiene. Both bathrooms look like they never have been cleaned in their existence. I’m not talking about another customer leaving it in bad shape. I’m talking about floor and toilet with accumulated dirt and nastiness that would need months to be accumulated. Please please do better. I almost puke the food thinking if that’s the standard for all the other areas.

I went to Hawthorn Bistro for breakfast and tried a few things: the scone of the week (lemon poppyseed), the classic breakfast sandwich on brioche, and the beef hash. The lemon poppyseed scone was definitely the highlight — soft, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The sandwich and hash were okay, but I asked for my eggs over easy and the yolk came out fully cooked, which was a letdown.
The staff here are super friendly and helpful, making the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, perfect for a relaxed breakfast or coffee hangout.
I’d love to come back and try their lunch menu, but as for breakfast, I’m not sure I’d give it another go. Still, it’s a lovely spot with great service and a lot of potential.

Good baked breads, cookies, bagels and other treats. It was slow service today, not sure why.
Please season your eggs just a bit, it elevates your food. Without it, it made the rest of the meal bland.
Potato Hash was good, it’s not exactly hash, which would mean shredded, not sliced, it’s more like country potatoes.
Deserts were great, that’s spot on.
Quiet, and peaceful, considering it’s next to Monroe.

I knew they have the best pastries in tally. But I visited San Fransisco’s famous bakery last week and found Hawthorn’s croissant is even better. They provide a perfect heating service, and nicely allow to bring Lucky Goat’s coffee.
Their air conditioner is always freezing. Be warm up!

We drove over to Tallahassee to stock up on some Costco items. We got hungry and decided to try a local sandwich place. Looking at Yelp we saw this place had rated very well and sounded exceptionally good. It was a great choice and did not disappoint at all! It looked nice outside with plenty of parking. The interior was very nice, clean and casual. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well. The music was very low key but quite pleasant. There were lots of different choices on the menu but not overwhelming. The bakery portion where we ordered our food looked amazing (pictured) I had an Italian sandwich some chips and a pickle (pictured). My spouse tried one of their soups and a club sandwich. We also splurged and split a slice of their Apple Sour Creme Pie as well. They brought our lunch out 10 minutes later. It worth the wait, looked amazing and it was too. We especially loved the fresh bread and the sandwiches were large! If you are anywhere near Tallahassee you must try this Bistro & Bakery shop!

We tried several items on the menu, one was a Cuban style sandwich, a turkey sandwich, chips and a cookie. I also had an orange soda. Prices are on the higher end. Food was very good and fresh. It even came out quickly. Location is solid. The only downside is the service can be hit or miss. Seems a little disorganized at times. Other than that it’s a great place to grab lunch and try some desserts.

This place is an 11/10. I was visiting from Jersey and happened to eat here the first day of my trip and it ended up being so good I came back every day. The pastries are out of this world, I don’t think I have had a pastry to even compare. Specifically the sourdough pop tart, the salted caramel scone and the sweet potato cinnamon roll. This place has the best of both worlds because not only were the sweets impeccable but the savory as well. I got the grilled cheese, the Italian sandwich, the tomato toast, the quiche and the Cuban sandwich, all exceptional. Super friendly staff, I recommend it to everyone.

The focaccia and croissants are fantastic. Very friendly staff and not a long wait to get take out. If you get a sourdough (also delish) they will cut it for you. I’ve also had the galette’s and they were divine.

My girlfriend and I love Hawthorne! We usually come here for the bakery and brunch and we have never been disappointed. The food here has a lot of love and attention to detail put into it. I love that the menu is seasonal so I always get to try something new. The staff here are always friendly and helpful and the restaurant is always clean and cozy. This place is a little pricey but it is definitely worth it. Please make more mushroom leek galettes!
