We met family for prime rib on Saturday night. It was cooked to perfection. I ordered an extra side of grilled shrimp YUMMM! Our daughter got a grilled chicken salad and grandson got a mushroom Swiss burger; both said theirs were delicious too.
Our waitress, Julie, was very friendly and efficient serving us first at the bar and then moving into the dining room to take care us. She did this while also serving a table of 12 celebrating a birthday. Good job Julie!
This is a no frills bar and grill with a VFW vibe. Nothing fancy or pretentious, which made the delicious food and great service that much more of a surprise and very much appreciated.

Moved up to Isanti 6 years ago and have tried a few places for prime rib and we found the one we are going to go back to. Tasty and tender with a good portion size. Service was great. We will highly recommend to others.

This is the worst place we have ever been to, and I feel bad the waitress has to work for a place like this, ish.
We order, great. 10 minutes later find out they ran out of ribeye, so my husband had to order something else. Nearly an hour later (there was only two other tables other than the table finishing up their meal) no appetizer, yet, we ask about it. The waitress was kind, and said the cook didn’t show, she said her boss is cooking, few minutes later, she comes out with all the food!? Appetizer, and main course…
I will post pictures, we couldn’t finish, we paid the bill and left with only a few bites.
No owners of restaurants would value this as a pleasing meal, as you can see…

Food was nothing to get excited about. The chicken nachos and potato skins looked and tasted like my kids made it at home. Might wanna beef it up with them. Needs lots of improvements!

Place hasn’t changed in 20 years. Drink was ok. I was charged $4 on happy hour for a 1 shot drink, so that’s pretty high. Nachos had a few pieces of old hamburger, some tomatoes and wilty Lettuce. Yum. Garlic cheese bread was pretty good. Probably wont be back.

We went for comedy night 6 of us reserved a table we had to get our own drinks the whole night because they were not organized they did not have enough staff for an event they planned we did watch 2 staff watching the show while we needed our food we waited an hour and and half for our food after an hour we asked they said ok then half hour later we asked again they finally brought it while the show was on so had to eat while turning around to watch the show also forgetting items that went with our entrees.we werent expressed with our meals our table was forgotten the whole night we wanted to have a fun relaxing night with our friends and we all were stressed out because of our service .being ignored the whole night oh they were around when they needed to bring the check right away they found our table they missed the last three hours before just a bad experience for the 6 of us and wont return again to bad do better purple hawk

Julie the owner was super friendly, along with the relaxing and welcoming atmosphere! The prices are reasonable and my fish and chips were delicious. We sat out on the patio and the view was spectacular. I would love to be there for a sunset! We will definitely be going back to The Hawk’s Nest!! Thank you Julie

We had a party of 6 on a Saturday night. The service was fantastic!!!!! Our server was very attentive, and even took the time to draw flowers, a unicorn and a rainbow on my daughter’s cup. Absolutely made her feel so wonderful. Prime rib was the best I’ve had in a very long time. Everything came out in a timely manner and was properly prepared. I highly recommend this restaurant.
