When we entered we were greated and told we could pick our own seats they also promptly got us a high chair for our daughter.

We Started with the pickle roll it was so good all that was left was what my daughter had in photo.

Burgers came out pretty much as soon as we were done with the roll. I got olive burger and my wife got the firehouse. My burger was absolutely delicious great amount of olives in the spread. Seasoned lightly but enough to taste. Wife was without words as she slammed her burger down.

We finished our meal with the famous cheesecake we didn’t stop to think about taking a picture but the slice was huge great for sharing light and fluffy with a delicious gram cracker crust that had me questioning my own skills. All together a delicious meal. We will be back.

Descriptions on the menu are hilarious. If you’re starving, this is definitely the place to go! Fyi-burgers are 1/2lb. Perfect hand dipped onion rings. Wanda’s Wonderful Cheesecake was our appetizer-oh yum. Burger tasted like farm raised, not like fast food. We had enough leftover for another whole meal. It was only around $45 including the cocktail. Definitely saved in my places to eat when I’m in the area.

This restaurant was very good, the building was unexpected, very unique, but the server Merayah was very personable, and friendly.
We enjoyed our food , it was fresh and delicious. We had the fried pickle chips as appetizers
I ordered the beer battered cod, with cottage cheese and grapes, my companion had the olive burger with cheddar cheese, and homeade potato chips.

Thee worst wet burrito Ive EVER had, I asked for light bean and it was smothered in alot of beans. I also asked for extra sauce but of course the waitress didn’t write anything down, so I don’t even know if she told the cooks. I had to asked for additional sauce, and I ended up feeding the rest to my dog in a take out container cuz I already paid 14.00 for just the burrito. My son had the burger, he mentioned it was a decent burger. FYI NO burritos!

Had takeout and it was great. The Olive Burger is solid and it had seasoned waffle fries and other choices too. Hannah was friendly at the cashier and had my food ready and remembered all the stuff in my order. Looking forward to trying the Hoosier Daddy next time. Thank you!

The service was good and the staff was nice. However, if I didn’t want to play pool, I would drink at home. There’s not enough distance in between one side of the pool table and tables where people were eating. I find it really annoying when an establishment has a pool table but does not provide adequate room to actually play on it. So I won’t be returning.

Stopped by after shooting some hoops with the boys, sure glad I did. Great place to eat, have a cold one, or simply talk story. Alyvia was a terrific waitress, and went above and beyond what was asked of her to make sure we were accommodated.

Two thumbs up!

The Harmful Rooster – Belding, MI

If mediocrity had a mascot, it might just be The Harmful Rooster. My recent visit delivered exactly what you’d expect from a restaurant that appears to be modeled after a fast food joint trying to convince you it’s a sit-down experience—without committing to either. The decor? Stubbornly forgettable. The service? Neither notably rude nor remarkably kind. They hit the elusive sweet spot of maximum average.

The menu is built on the classics: fried chicken, coleslaw, cornbread. Each item tasted as though it had been rigorously calibrated to evoke precisely zero emotional response. The chicken was technically hot, the cornbread technically present, and the soda technically carbonated. If there were a contest for achieving the bare minimum with unwavering consistency, this place would sweep every category.

And yet, it wasn’t the food that defined the evening. After dinner, I took my date—a veteran—for a walk down the Flat River Trail, a pleasant enough path that ends in a bitter twist: the Veteran Memorial Bridge, defaced with graffiti. The sight was devastating, especially for her. She broke down in tears, overwhelmed by the desecration of what should be a solemn tribute. She then vomited—violently—returning her entire Harmful Rooster meal to the earth.

It’s worth noting that the trail leads directly from the restaurant to this graffiti-covered memorial. Whether by coincidence or irony, the route felt like a metaphor: from bland consumption to emotional ruin, all within a few blocks.

In summary: if you’re looking for a tastefully uneventful meal followed by a profoundly heartbreaking encounter with civic neglect, The Harmful Rooster has you covered.
