Delicious food and fantastic service. It feels like you are treated like a member of their “family”. Friendliest people we met while in New Orleans.

The waiter who served us was an older gentleman, and he was incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive. He talked with us, shared his story, and made the experience truly enjoyable. The food is excellent, one dish is enough for two people because the portions are very large. Everything was outstanding. The atmosphere is very calm, with music and a pool table. I give it a 100/10. I truly wish we had a place like this in Texas. ❤️

The Harbor Bar & Grill in Metairie (near New Orleans) is the kind of place where casual comfort food meets lively neighborhood bar energy. It’s been a local favorite for years, known for hearty burgers, po’boys, fried shrimp, and seafood options that hit the spot whether you’re stopping in for lunch, dinner, or late-night bites.
The vibe here is unpretentious and social — a classic bar & grill with friendly bartenders, plenty of seating indoors and out, and a crowd that ranges from after-work groups to folks grabbing dinner or watching the game. The outdoor patio and late-night hours make it especially fun on weekends.
Food highlights for me are the juicy Harbor burgers and fried shrimp platters, served with fries and sides that feel comforting and satisfying. The roast beef po’boy is another local favorite, hearty and flavorful without fuss.
Service can vary a bit — busy nights sometimes mean a slower pace — but overall the staff are welcoming and the atmosphere stays upbeat.
In short: The Harbor is a classic neighborhood bar & grill with solid American comfort food, cold drinks, and a laid-back, social vibe — great for casual hangouts or a laid-back meal with friends.

Flavorful, nice size of soft shell crab with fries, and toast. Also recommend ribeye steak with potato and asparagus.

I ate at Harbor Bar and Grill because they have a sign claiming they serve the best 12-ounce burger in the world, and honestly, if you say that, I have to try it. For me, it was fine — maybe slightly above average. I’d probably give it like a 6.5 out of 10. Not bad at all, just not even close to “best in the world,” so I’m landing at about three stars. I’m not really sure how you make that claim, but I respect the confidence.

As far as Metairie neighborhood bars go, this is a classic! You can go wrong is you’re looking for a place to chill out and get good drinks. And if you’re hungry then this is definitely the place to get one of the absolute best burgers in the Greater New Orleans Area, period!

Just out of town but worth the trip.
Owner was super friendly and pleased I was visiting from the UK.
Service was attentive and on point.
Seating inside and out.
Has a bar as well as eating.
Burger was top – the sweet potatoe fries were real good my friend had.
They do sandwiches as well as burgers and you can choose bun or French bread depending on most items.

First and last time! The bun terrible, no napkin, no condiments, the plate broke I mean the cheapest box to go . The burger meat tastes good!

Place was close to the hotel and fairly decent reviews. Walked in with 2 kids, rather late on Saturday. Someone at the bar immediately stated we had to sit outside, which was fine, as it’s a bar & grill. Our server was amazing, older gentleman. He was handling nearly every table outside. Food was pretty good. They didn’t try to rush us off either.
