We hadn’t been there in a couple of years. But our nephew recently bought it. So we drove out for dinner. It’s such a nice place. They have a nice little salad bar. Everything was very fresh. We tried the chicken bites and corn nuggets for appetizers. Both were really good. My husband ordered the cod. It was a huge piece. I ended up getting grilled chicken. Again, it was a very large piece. Very tasty. We’ll be back, especially since family owns it now!

The Happy Spot has great food and farm decor. The tables have plenty of room to get around. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. We went on a week night and could get right in. We ordered cocktails and browsed the menu. They have a nice salad bar and our food came in a timely manner. The chicken and fish were delicious. It takes us about an hour to get there but it’s worth the trip.

Fried chicken was great, not a fan of fresh french fries they needed to be cooked longer.

We were a party of 3. There were not many customers, many open tables. All 3 of us ordered chicken. After an extensive wait, our chicken was served…. Burnt… all three orders. Both kitchen and wait staff were good with sliding these unpresentable meals on our table in each of our directions. Such a disappointment, and not cheap!

I haven’t been here for 25 yrs but joined some friends for dinner. Very good food, just as I remembered. Our nutty waitress (Casey) was a lot of fun and we could tell she was a person that loves her job. Her ability to take sarcasm made our evening very enjoyable. good food/good service.

I have been going to Arnie’s since I was 9 years old…I am now approaching 60 years old. This past year we took a sister’s trip and met friends at the place we have been obsessed with since we were very young…the BEST of the Best for fried chicken lovers. We actually travel to try out different supper club’s to see if it even can come close to Arnies. After all these years, there is not one that beats Arnie’s. However, we have not been back since the restaurant burned down and has since been rebuilt. I am afraid the original chicken recipe was burned with the restaurant. Back in the day, we would look at a panel of colored lights from the kitchen and when one of the lights would light up to let the waitresses know an order was ready. We (9 of us) would always be hoping it was our order! Sometimes it took 40 minutes…but SO worth the wait. Unfortunately, the chicken does not taste the same. Don’t get me wrong, it is good…but with the current recipe / frying process it falls in line with other good supper clubs we have gone for fried chicken. The Happy Spot is about 2.5 hours away from our home, and we can get the same “good’ chicken closer to our home. Bring back the old recipe….it was ALWAYS worth the trip! Thank you.
