We went the other night and ordered the fried chicken bau buns – YUM. And 4 entrees. The serving sizes were great, dishes were colorful and everything was good. Service was great too. Grateful to have this spot in Hayesville.

The fact that the restaurant was nearly full by 4:30 in the afternoon tells me that the secret is out; there are some good food choices to be had here. We ordered the dumplings as an appetizer and both ordered the coconut miso Ramen. The Ramen was packed full of excellent flavors and included kimchi, eggs, and mine had delicious pork belly. There were three other employees besides our waitress that constantly checked on us to make sure that we were doing great and we were.

1st visit to The Happy Dragon. I thought it was just the typical take out, but what a pleasant surprise! The atmosphere was so welcoming that I decided to stay a while. The Golden Silk Martinis was very tasty! My meal came out fresh, hot and delicious! This is definitely a place to come sit for a bit and enjoy yourself!

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner on Monday at the Happy Dragon in Hayesville. I believe it’s the only eatery open Mon night. Anyway we each had a cocktail, both tasted great, then we ordered an appetizer – Bang Bang shrimp which had six or seven jumbo shrimp cooked in a lite delicate tasty tempura batter covered with a drizzled on bang bang sauce which was a little sweet and a little tangy. We loved it and mopped up the sauce. For our mains my wife had their Masaman Curry choosing chicken as her meat. It was stir-fried chicken, root vegetables, chili, pickled carrots, green onions, cilantro and a bowl of steamed rice plopped upside down on one side of the bowl. It was wonderful. We both happily munched and slurped away while waiting for my Coconut Miso Ramen. Wow definitely worth a bit of wait to get it. A delightful coconut miso broth with what seemed like angel hair instead of ramen noodles, soft boiled egg, kimchi, nori, chili crisp, cashews, and pickled carrots. I chose shrimp as my meat option and this soup was spectacular. Full of great flavor, lots of veggies, many of those jumbo shrimp, and spiced very tangy but not really too hot for my taste. I ended up taking home about half my bowl and when reheated two days later it seemed to have upped the flavors and the fire. Damn we loved this place and I can’t wait to go back. Very reasonably priced for what you get, on a par with other higher end Hayesville restaurants. Open 4:00 Thursday thru Mon, closed Tuesday & Wed

The decor and vibes were great but the food took a very long time, was pricey and we didn’t enjoy most of it. I was disappointed in the Mongolian beef (it was very onion heavy and not same flavor as what I’m used to, however the meat was at least tender) and sesame chicken was just “ok”. Positives- egg rolls were very good, waitresses were nice and attentive. For the price, we were hopeful for a more enjoyable experience. I will try again once they’ve been open awhile.

Service was slow. Food was mediocre. We had chicken dumplings for a starter, and they tasted like dumplings from the freezer section of the grocery store that had been microwaved to reheat. Did not taste fresh or steamed. We asked for Sake, but they were out of the only one option of hot sake they have. We chose steak and shrimp hibachi and general tso chicken. The salad was wet and the only good piece was the pickled radish. The miso soup tasted like row water and tofu, no seasoning. The steak was so tough, my boyfriend couldn’t finish chewing it because it was grisly and stringy. The vegetables were doused in oil and no longer tasted like a semi healthy part of the meal. The general tso chicken tasted decent, but the chicken wasn’t crispy. The fried rice only tasted of oil, no other seasoning.

I have been eating Asian foods for over 60years and this by far was the worst Asian food I have ever let touch my palate, There were several of us eating and all had different plates and yet all agreed that it was horrible. I have no idea how it got the good ratings it did. The wonton soup tasted just like Campbells beef soup. The egg rolls were not great but they were the closest to eatable on the table. Most of the entrees were overcooked and dry. I would definitely say that this was a huge culinary disappoint. And to top it off it was very expensive even if the food had been good. Our waitress was very good

Egg rolls and Bao Buns were delicious. The Beef and Broccoli was a little heavy on garlic, and the Steak and Shrimp hibachi was over cooked. Seems like it wasn’t cooked to order and the shrimp and steak were cooked ahead of time and added back to the grill to cook with the vegetables as orders come in, plus there was not a lot for the money. I thought it was strange that they could only cook the meat medium well to well. I think Kobi’s in Murphy has them beat hands down when it comes to the Hibachi for taste and quantity for the money. I know you’re new but you still have a ways to go. Three stars on the nice side because you’re new.

Shout out to the new Pan Asian restaurant on the square The Happy Dragon. Absolutely fantastic! They just reopened and polished up the menu, tweaked some recipes and I’d like to say it’s better than ever. It was good before but even better now. I had the most amazing Ramen bowl over the weekend. So good that my husband and I went back the next night for some apps and craft cocktails. Very impressive. My Ramen bowl was the best I’ve had out at a restaurant. The broth was on point and my ramen egg was so amazing I had to order an extra one. The braised pork and pork belly just melted in my mouth it was so tender. The Korean BBQ chicken wings were on point, sticky ribs – phenomenal, lettuce wraps – full of flavor. My husband had the drunken noodles that were absolutely delicious. If you are looking for a fantastic Asian restaurant that doesn’t lack in umami, this is the place to be. They have a dining area that gives you a view of the beautiful tusquittee mountain range to enjoy as well. Perfect for enjoying a nice evening out with the ones you love. Here are a few pictures of some of the amazing items we ordered. Braised pork Ramen bowl (I added pork belly) , Drunken noodles, Chicken fried rice, sticky ribs, Okinawan Old Fashioned, and the Paper Crane.
Amazing service, excellent unique and beautifuly crafted cocktails. We are so grateful to have such a wonderful restaurant here in our beautiful little town we call home.
