The family-owned donut shop offers unique, individually made donuts, fancy donuts, and specialty donuts like the Dirty Pig which is a chocolate bar with bacon on top or Dom’s Delight an apple filled bismark rolled in sugar and cinnamon. The Happy Donut also serves Biscuits and Gravy, the Fat Kid Special Biscuits and Gravy with a Sausage Roll on top, Sausage n’ Cheese Biscuits, Sausage Dogs, and the Dippin’ Dog which is worth a howl of delight and includes a sausage roll with gravy on the side. We recently extended our hours to 4 PM and have bagel sandwiches of Ham n’ Cheese, Turkey n’ Cheese or both. Our daily soup is hot at 11 AM. We put it together with the bagel sandwich and a small bag of chips for the lunch options.

The Happy Donut can be hit or miss. Sometimes the doughnuts are delicious, and sometimes they are a big let down. I was disappointed with my latest visit. I ordered a bunch of different doughnuts. The worst were the apple fritters. I love apple fritters, but the dough was very dark and greasy. They tasted like burnt toast. They were overcooked or fried in old grease that should’ve been changed. I went there in the morning but the doughnut selection on this particular day was quite sparse.

Cinnamon bloom- very good

Glazed- very good. Like really good.

Apple fritter – pretty good, not our favorite but I’d get it again

Old fashioned – meh. Don’t need again. Not as moist or sweet as I prefer.

Donut holes- very good. I’m very happy with these.

Very good jalapeno Cheddar baked sausage

Biscuits – cheap, not great

Traveling through the area and saw the sign on the highway. We were actually headed to Safeway to get a fritter. We decided to get off the exit and see what this donut shop had to offer.
This donut shop has all the classics, but also has some fun unique items as well.
The apple and blueberry fritters are as big as my head, and the apple fritter was amazing.
My husband wanted the maple bar with bacon, but they were out…then the lady said, no worries, I’ll go make you one! Really? Great service!
We chatted with another local about what he was getting…talked about our A1C levels, and decided we’ll all die very happy people!

Wonderful old school donutshop. The kind of place I would go to with my grandpa when I was a child. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Definately worth a stop.

Wow, can’t even describe enough how much I am disappointed in my small down donut shop that has sold two time since the original owners. go to ask a simple question about new prices since I am a regular there for years now only asking and trying to understand and told that I’m being argumentative I’m seriously just trying to understand the price difference? Sorry you’re incompetent and cannot do anything more than repeat the price. I get that you were misunderstanding what I was asking but maybe you should try understanding something yourself for once. I remember when teenagers with more brains worked here.

I could be misunderstood but the lady running the front counter on monday morning seems really self centered. Im not going to explain every little detail but essentially my friday night is monday morning. Being the start of my weekend and the start of most others ive found places to go where I can tip them my spare bills. I use cash for one thing and tips. I normally end up with bigger bills but the way I see it is it just makes someone else’s day better. Recently ive been going to the happy doughnut and getting a couple of each of the doughnuts that people close to me enjoy and giving the lady my spare bills. Just this morning she accused me of hitting on her with tips, ive make no gestures towards her in any way. Ive actually been standing there with my hand on the doorknob trying to leave and she keeps talking but me trying to not be rude i take my hand off. She then proceeds to say that my tips are welcome but shes married. To someone who doesnt consider anyone else’s perspective, thats fine to say. What am I supposed to do. I was just accused of hitting on her with tips now it feels like a requirement vs a choice. And then if I say dont have any cash and dont tip(like I have a few times) then it feels like im being viewed as someone who objectifies women to the point where they’re bought.

Im a soldier on PCS. I drove through when they were closed for a bite not knowing their hours. As I drove around the shop owner came out with a smile and a handful of donuts. He said hi and let me know they were closed. He let me know they make them fresh every day but he had some left, and he asked me to pick a few. After I did he packed them up and we talked just took a break and had a real conversation. This is the best donut shop I have ever been to. Not just because of the delicious donuts but because of the amazing real person that runs it. More places should be like this. If your ever lucky enough to pass by on this long road please stop by and I promise you will be happier for the experience.

Great donuts. Love the blueberry fritters donut holes. Had a large apple fritter. Perfectly made! Had a sausage egg cheese biscuit sandwich. Personally I didn’t like the biscuit. Kinda dry and miscut. The top half was larger than the bottom half. That made the flavor more on the bread and not the filling. Very friendly staff.

Great little place off the I-5. Freshly made donuts by this wonderful lady. I had a maple bar Monday with bacon crumble on top! I really don’t know how to make it sound any better. I had a small coffee it round up to about $ 4 something it is worth the price very tasty and fresh.

It is one of the best Donut business in Oregon. Definitely will be back!

The location is just above everything in this little truck stop town and you can enjoy a view from a nice window seat. Good music plays quietly.

They have bathrooms and a respectable selection of donuts. Looks like coffee is self serve once you pay for a cup.

The staff was friendly enough and the donuts were good. I think this place is likely to reach the expectations of any reasonable donut enthusiast 🙂
