This place is consistently solid with a menu aimed at the locals and portions that should fill up even the big eaters. The chicken fried steak is a THICK slab of tough beef and the breading is crisp even as it is smothered by a generous portion of gravy.
Don’t sleep on the Hangout Cafe in Anaconda.

Very friendly staff and very good breakfast food. I did the basics, eggs, sausage and home fries. All very tasty and their coffee is excellent!

I absolutely love the variety, I’ve had the food more than a few times and every time it never disappoints! Best cake pops I’ve EVER had! 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend. This and the customer service is amazing and makes this place the real deal!

Interesting place with a hippy style decor and a basic sandwich and burger menu. Like most small town restaurants the service is not very well trained and a but slow. The food is decent and the place was pretty full for a Monday afternoon.

I’ve eaten at the Hangout many times, and let me tell you. It has crepes like never before. But other than those, they have amazing chicken strips. And their salad bar is one of the nicest I’ve seen. The staff was very friendly, and
I would very much recommend this place. Though it lacks advertising and decor on the outside
, it is very nice on the inside. Very well decorated and nice. I highly encourage you to go to the Hangout, it is a very good option for dining in at Anaconda.

I was really craving pancakes. The kind I would have with my grandparents as a kid, at a little spot in Melrose so long ago. Not an easy thing to find it seems. These hit the mark! They were fluffy, flavorful and had that unique and delicious old-fashioned diner style taste to them. Eggs were perfect, sausage also yummy. Wonderful service! I like that both lunch and breakfast are served all day. So happy I stopped!

Stopped here on a road trip thru Montana. Great bowl of soup. The cook makes all the soups from scratch. Friendly and fast service too. Plus Anaconda is an interesting old copper mining town to drive through.

A small little hideout in Anaconda, which offers a wide menu and excellent food including a really nice sweet tea for us folks from the south that have migrated to this really nice town. The owner a local minister on the weekends and restaurant owner during the week, located next to Glacier Bank on Anaconda, they offer a variety of custom soups everyday, a full salad bar and a variety of fresh sandwiches. Today I enjoyed a hot ham and cheese on a toasted flat bread and a self assembled garden salad and sweet tea. I highly recommend this restaurant .

We happened to stop in here while passing through town and found a GEM! This spot is so cozy and the staff are very friendly. I got the Grinder and it is honestly one of the most delicious sandwiches I’ve had in a while. Top quality meat and such excellent flavor combos! Soft, fresh, and warm bread. We will definitely be back when we come through here again!
