The place has the best vibe. Laid back and welcoming. My son and I go here tp.play pool. It didn’t have the gritty, look over your shoulder bar feel. The hang out is a great name for a place you would bring your film or just go to have a laugh. Highly recommend.

Came down from Iowa to visit some friends with Abate of Virginia (Mountains Thunder) we are members of Abate of Iowa, and joined in on the Two Wheeling for the Troops benefit. This was the ending stop, place was packed and the service along with the the food was amazing. Very well run establishment with a great friendly staff!

We were visiting some family in the area, and there was a band that they said was the most popular in Roanoke, so we needed to go see them playing at The Hangout. It was really packed, so parking was actually kind of an issue once we got there. It’s definitely a hole in the wall, just above a biker bar type of place. They had one large room where the band was set up with a number of tables and a bar. Then, a second room had two pool tables and a few tables to sit at. We ended up sitting in the pool room. They also have a stage Outback with a little viewing area. They’re kind of a sports bar mix. They even promote that they have disc golf, which, walking around, I saw there were two portable holes that they could set up. The place had a pretty good vibe. The band was kind of a ’80s- 2000’s and they were pretty fun. Their fried hot dog was pretty good, we got a few appetizers, and we were told that they had the best chili in town, which was pretty good. My daughter got some wings. They were a little dry. I think they might have been overcooked, but they weren’t horrible. Service was touch and go, but no fault of their own. The place was absolutely mobbed, and they were working their tails off. Looks to be a good place to find live music, get a few drinks and a little bit of food. Everything was pretty solid. If we were in the area again and the hang out was suggested, I wouldn’t think twice about coming back.

This is just a great place to unwind and relax. Food is very good and the service is some of the best around. Wednesday is pool league night and you can just come watch and listen to karaoke. Phil will take you back in time with country classics.
This is a bar that has some of the best pool tables in town. Fridays and Saturdays can be pretty busy so expect a crowd. Parking can be tight so large vehicles like pickups can struggle. Definitely no rigs or trailers. Once again, the staff is great.

I moved to Salem this past summer, and I discovered this oasis not long after here in Roanoke. The staff is courteous and eager to please, and there are an array of activities in the summer such as cornhole and live music outside as well as year round music, karaoke, and pool indoors during the fall / winter season. The atmosphere ranges from more of a sports bar vibe when the lights are full on, to more of a dive bar ambiance which I appreciate when the music starts.
They also make a great stone sour for those in the know. ✨

I found The Hangout the first night I moved into Roanoke from FLA. I was In Love with the Staff (Dom, Sydney, Andrew, Loren, et al.) and the Owner, Lori E.!! They’re all such wonderful friends now after six months of playing Pool, EGames, and singing Karaoke nearly every night!

Came to listen to live band. Mended Fences was playing. Had a great meal. Waitresses was very friendly. Met the owner, Laurie..Took lots of pics. They have pool tables, corn hole ,disc golf and Virginia Skill games. Dine inside or Dine outside. Bar inside and outside. A must visit.

Really cool bar, plenty locals of all legal ages. Pool tables, karaoke, and backyard stage for bands to play live music on. My drink wasn’t the tastiest but that may have been how I ordered it. My girls drink was good. There was a cover charge for the backyard area cool spot tho, ohhh and limited parking.
