Highly recommended. Probably one of the best places to grab a beer in the area!
It’s also kid friendly with plenty of room for them to run around. There is a dog friendly area as well in the front of the tap room.
Plus, who DOESN’T love to drink in a warm igloo in the snow?!
I’m sure the sprawling outdoor space is amazing in warmer months, but there was plenty of seating between the inside area and the three outdoor igloos for the January visit we had. And we will definitely be back before we leave town!
The ‘Mexican’ food truck was open and we ordered loaded fries (can’t remember what they were called). They were good, we asked for them extra crispy and they could’ve been more crunchy but were super tasty nonetheless.
The one thing that let this place down was the kids running riot. You walk in and see a big board saying ‘this is not a playground etc….’ but there were kids running round everywhere, climbing the fences and jumping off of tables. Whilst this is not the bars responsibility, it felt more like the outside of a Wacky Warehouse rather than a drinking establishment. It’s a tricky one, as parents should watch their own kids but we felt because it was outside, people just didn’t care. If you’re going to put up bold signs, the behaviour needs to be monitored.
If we were to go again, we’d go later when there are likely to be fewer children. It’s a great spot with games and tons of outdoor seating, definitely worth stopping in if you’re in South Lake Tahoe! Drinks and food were reasonably priced too!
