My husband I tried the Hammond for the first time. Atmosphere was ok. Wish it had better dim lighting. The service was good. They were busy and our server tried very hard to be attentive. The food was fabulous!! Drinks were so so. I had a classic old fashioned. It was wonderful. We’ll definitely go back again

Really cool spot with excellent service. I think everyone in the party enjoyed their food, I on the other hand did not. I got a burger, the most basic of things to cook and it was soggy beyond belief. The service was awesome and they replaced it. Unfortunately it again was soggy with grease. They were proactive and could tell I didn’t care for it, and they addressed it right away. I’ll definitely try it again but my first impression of the food wasn’t great.

Place was great, nice, and worm. Our waitress was very attentive and their priece is within average. The food was not the greatest but that’s my personal perspective. My partner loved the food but I thought their Mac and cheese was a little dry and the pizza was very very slim and saggy to the limit that I had to use a fork to eat my pizza.

As a first time visitor I was shocked at this restaurant. I decided to try this food establishment called Hammond which is located in Camas. My wife and I were joined by our daughter who was visiting us from Florida. I asked whether a military discount was offered and the waiter replied sharply that they didn’t offer discounts for anything.
The prices were very high so we were expecting good food and excellent service. We looked over the menu and ordered and were quickly informed that one of the few vegetarian dishes offered (which my daughter had ordered) was not available due to a lack of beets which was one of the main ingredients. She looked over the menu and could not find an alternate choice so she just ate the foccacio and a deviled egg. I ordered the margarita pizza but after several bites I noticed that the sauce had an acrid aftertaste. I let the waiter know and asked him to remove the plate from the table since I was starting to feel ill from the sauce. My wife ordered a salad with steak and she found the meat on the tough side. When I suggested that the pizza be removed from the bill the waiter stated that he couldn’t do anything about it. We ended up paying over $80 for two meals, one beer, and two modest appetizers. I will never return and canned recommend this place to anyone.

Husband and I have been coming to Hammond Restaurant for 4 years, at least 2-3 times per year dining here for birthday or “just because” occasions. Recently, the experience has gone downhill.
(1) The prices are absolutely outrageous, and the portions are smaller than ever. As a chef (from Four Seasons hotel to Double Tree Hilton), I can confidently say that the 3oz of salmon I was served was definitely not enough. Plus, the smoked salmon was mushy and tasteless (see pictures below). When I asked the manager/host to add a little more portion, she told me she could, but there would be an extra charge—this was after I had been a loyal customer for so long.
(2) My husband ordered a double cheese burger with an extra side of the house salad, and it ended up being an $8 charge for a tiny cup-sized portion. I mean it – A TINY CUP. However, our waiter, Devin, was amazing and tried to help, but he couldn’t do anything because “his boss” (that lady) was there and wouldn’t allow it.
We ended up paying $62 for a dinner (Pacific Cobb Salad and double cheese burger + side of salad) that should have been far better in both quality and value. I get that prices can rise, but this is excessive. If they don’t reconsider their approach, I’m sure they’ll lose more loyal customers. It’s truly frustrating to see how much it’s changed, and not for the better.

Wonderful restaurant! Went with just my husband and no kids but it is still kid friendly. The food was amazing! We got halibut fish and chips, their sirloin dip sandwich, a side of their mashed potatoes and gravy, and a side of Mac and cheese. It all was so good! Our mains had Cajun fries and rosemary parm fries. Definitely recommend the rosemary parm fries! Cajun fries were good just unsalted. I got a pomegranate fizz drink and while it wasnt quite what I expected, it was oddly good! We didn’t get dessert so I can’t speak on that. Prices are a bit more speedy but definitely worth it. Atmosphere was a little loud, probably due to the open kitchen, but it was not bad! Everyone was very friendly, food was quick. Would definitely go back again for date night!

The Hammond has a comfortable vibe with a rustic decor. The staff are friendly and have a good balance of attentiveness.
FOOD:
I recently enjoyed a superb rib-eye steak there. It was 13 oz and one of the better seasoned steaks I’ve had in a while. I requested jalapenos for the ribeye and Dijon mustard for the mash potatoes. I love how the jalapenos were roasted elevated the presentation and their contribution to the steak. But I just had it again tonight and it wasn’t nearly as good. The prime rib dip is good but a bit small. The steak salad is enjoyable. The pizzas are small and just enough for one person.
BAR:
Their cocktail program has really improved. They now have the quality mixers and liqueurs in stock to make excellent craft cocktails. The Waliser Cabernet Sauvignon is not bad. The Oden Thor Equinox beer is good.
PARKING:
Ample free parking is available in their lot.
Our steak dinner was a superb meal and a very enjoyable experience. We will return before too much water goes under the bridge to learn if this was the exception or the new baseline. If lightning strokes twice we will frequent The Hammond more often.

Server was amazing, let’s start with that. She was very helpful but when it came to food they lost all the points. Steak was thin as can be and was asked for medium rare and came out well done for two different people at our table. Fish and chips were cooked to death! Honestly the delivery was just straight poorly executed. We will not return. $300+ for a few glasses of wine and dishes for 6 people.
And for God’s sake DONT EVER put coconut and pineapple in a carrot cake dessert!?
