The bar area is nice and our bartender was quick and attentive. However unfortunately that is about the only positive thing i have to say. I ordered the salmon grilled. the menu even recommended the temperature to be medium. Mine came out well well done. So it was dry. The rice pilaf looked like it came from a box. a little mushy. the broccoli? well it was ok but not good quality. My husband had the voodoo shrimp, which was decent. His side was the Italian spinach which was so mushy and very salty.

Even though Winchester was our original meet n greet anniversary spot, we had a great time celebrating our 3 yr anniversary with LocoCoco (Pina coladas) Delish! It was clean, themed decor and spacious. Daisy was a good waitress that greeted us with a smile and served us with good customer service. My beau had an Amberjack sandwich with Broccoli that was hot and tasty and I had the fried mushrooms and coconut shrimp which was all served hot and delicious We will be coming back soon

We have always been pleased with the HS on Mendenhall so I was excited we had an opportunity to try this new location.
The atmosphere was awesome. A ton of people for a Wednesday night with a lot of energy.
I started with a cup of the crab bisque which was hot and creamy tasting absolutely amazing. Large hunks of crab floating throughout.
I had the blackened salmon dinner and it was exceptional. It came with Italian spinach and a roll. The food had incredible taste.
Lisa did an amazing job serving us keeping the drinks filled and provided solid recommendations.
We look forward to going back.

Coming from California and my first experiencing southern food was underwhelming. I had the gumbo as an appetizer. Off to a great start. Great flavor and what I expected it to be. I had a fried catfish entree topped with lumped crab over a bed of rice, side of French fries, and a side of steamed broccoli. There was non existent seasoning on the catfish or the crab. Same went for the bed of rice they sat on. The fries were good, but wasn’t anything I was really looking forward to in my Southern food experience. No hushpuppies were offered on the menu. Who has fried catfish without hushpuppies?? The steamed broccoli was good. As a person transplanted to California, and excited to be back home for some Southern cooking, I was extremely disappointed.

Old days managers used to keep restaurants air cold when closing time comes closer so people doesn’t stay there much. Yes we had that. Was outside temperature probably 43 inside was 53 something like that. Waited for my second beer order for a while than waited to be served for a while. Catfish I ordered soft cocked . It could be little bit more crispy and breaded but had no taste. Southland casino catfish plate has more delicious.
And I think original place the one at Mendenhall have better service and better on everything . But this places had very poor on everything

The atmosphere was great. Large location with a room for parties. Very clean.
The staff is not welcoming. I ordered a side of grilled shrimp that came out spoiled. The manager, Joanie, presented at the table and instead of saying “how can I help you” or another greeting, her initial statement was “what’s the problem?” She was combative and denied the shrimp were spoiled. She does not eat seafood.
I also ordered the dinner Redfish plate and the rice pilaf that comes with was uncooked. They provided me with a replacement that was warmed, also not fully cooked.
Overall, this was not the best new location 1st impression of this restaurant that my family and I have frequented in the past.
I hope both the food and service improves.

Have always loved the Mendenhall location, for over 40 years. Went today to Germantown locatio and will never be back. Waiter suggested the special for $15. Spinach and seafood quiche with a side. I ordered the grits for my side. I received potatoes for my side and quiche with minimal seafood, green onions and no spinach. Also covered is some sauce!! It was barely lukewarm.
