Me and my wife stopped in later at night for our first visit. We were greeted right away by two polite gentlemen. We enjoy Greek and Mediterranean food and have tried several gyro places over the years, but this one was better than most. The restaurant was clean, the food was very good, and the prices were reasonable. We ordered fries with white sauce as well, and they were excellent. If you stop by, I would recommend the gyro and the waffle fries.

I got it delivered and it was delicious, so I decided to dine in. Loved the falafel, the spicy BBQ chicken, the gyro meat, hummus, etc.
Large portions and really enjoyed it. The white sauce is crazy good. The guy working when my dad & I stopped by to dine in was awesome. Super attentive and clearly passionate about the food and our experience. A place like this makes it very easy to support local.

Regular Plate is huge! Great portion. First time here and I got beef/chicken very delicious. Red sauce is spicy but very good, white sauce is also very good. Strawberry Lemonade was also delicious. Definitely coming again!

If you’re looking for a place with delicious, fresh food served by some of the kindest humans around, you need to go to The Halal Guys! We loved it!
They have great options between the platters or sandwiches and chicken, beef, or falafel – just to name a few. They also carry chicken wings, which we found to be crispy and flavorful.
My husband and I each had a combo platter with beef and chicken and we found the portions to be generous, leaving each of us enough for lunch tomorrow.
Our recommendation — Get the white sauce!! It’s yummy and addicting.
They also accommodated our son’s simple request of a pita with just chicken and lettuce and he loved it.
The fries were great, and we enjoyed the various flavors of lemonade.
And don’t sleep on that Baklava Cheesecake, because it is a perfect book end to a great meal!
All in all, we are lucky to have this place in our area. Check it out!

Food is great, and we love coming here. But we have come here around 8pm a couple of times now and it has been closed (despite hours online saying they’re open until 10 or 11 pm most days). Just got here for dinner at 8pm on a Saturday and lights are off, workers seem to be closing up shop (all lights are off). Maybe they just need to update hours?

One of the best halal guys I’ve had. From the moment I walked in I felt welcome, exception customer service from all the workers.
We got the chicken and beef plates and both were delicious, although the beef is definitely better! It’s well seasoned and tender and compliments well with their original white and hot sauce.
The falafel and chicken wings on the side were absolutely delicious. The falafel is so crispy I thought I was in Egypt. The chicken wings were also so juicy and flavorful, better than many wings restaurants.
Overall this is one of the best up and coming restaurants in the Iowa city area. Whether you want to stop by for lunch or cater an event, the halal guys is the spot!!

The Halal Guys has turned into one of our favorite places to eat out. It is perfect if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat without feeling like blah from other quick food places. You can tell their dishes are made with fresh, high quality ingredients. The staff are always friendly and greet us with a smile. They have generous portions and don’t hold out on the white sauce. It’s a must try if you’re in the area. If you don’t go back for the people alone, you will be for the food.

I’ve been looking forward to trying this place since doing a delivery pick up a few months ago. I finally grabbed some to go this afternoon and I’m pleased to announce this is my new favorite spot! Food is fresh and delicious. I had the small platter with chicken and gyro beef, added hummus for some more protein. Chicken was so juicy.

We tried out the food last weekend and it tasted amazing! The portion sizes were great, the staff were super friendly and checked on us often while we were sitting. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
