I’ve been eating at The Halal Guys since the original street carts in NYC — and I never thought I’d say this, but having them right here in Fort Mill is a game changer.
Same bold flavors. Same perfectly seasoned chicken and gyro. Same white sauce that honestly makes everything addictive. The rice is on point, the meat is juicy, the pita is fresh — it’s exactly what you want when you’ve been missing real NYC halal food.
For those of us who spent years in New York and got used to that late-night 53rd & 6th platter, being able to get that same experience outside the city without hopping on a plane is unreal.
Amazing food, fast service, clean spot. If you know, you know. And if you don’t — go try it.

Was looking for something new and found it!! New to us but been around since 1990 in New York!! The gyros were delicious. I had the beef. The meat was very flavorful. My husband dared the spicy chicken. It was delicious, seriously hot! Owners warned him and he still asked for more Great food, atmosphere and staff, we will be back!!

Stopped by The Halal Guys and got the chicken and falafel platter, which absolutely hit the spot! The chicken was flavorful and tender, the falafel was crispy, and everything paired perfectly with the rice, pita, and that iconic white sauce. Portion sizes were generous. Service was quick and friendly, which made the experience even better. Definitely a go-to when you’re in that Halal state of mind! Reminds us of home.

Customer service was fantastic. Greeted and ordered as soon as we walked in! I haven’t had falafel this good in years! I had falafel from an NYC food truck and have searched and searched for something remotely comparable and these guys hit the spot! Will definitely be returning and you should come check them out!

Came by for a quick bite with my family and had a great experience. The food was pretty good — loved the white sauce, and the hummus added to the platter was a nice touch. My kids enjoyed the food and the fries, which were nice and crispy. The place was clean, and the woman who greeted us was kind and helpful. She even made sure we had all our food and condiments after we sat down. I believe the manager also came out to greet us, which was appreciated.
Between the chicken and beef gyro, I’d recommend the gyro meat. I ordered both on the platter — the chicken was a little dry on its own but worked well mixed in. We’ll definitely be back to try the wraps or wings.

Came to the Grand Opening and had a terrific experience. The food was very fresh, flavorful and received generous portions. Be careful with how much spicy sauce you get, but that was my favorite part as it’s hard for me to get good dishes that have enough of a kick. Will be frequently revisiting and I highly recommend if you’re looking for an option in Fort Mill.

Tried the small chicken platter here, and wow… this isn’t the Halal Guys I know from NY. Chicken (pretty sure it’s thighs) was bland, borderline stale, and felt like it hadn’t been seasoned at all. Any flavor came purely from drowning it in white and red sauce, and even that couldn’t save it. Rice was fine but flavorless without sauce, pita was forgettable, and the toppings didn’t do anything to bring the dish together.
What makes this worse is that my experience isn’t unique, just look at the recent reviews. A lot of people are saying the same thing: bland chicken, questionable freshness, heavy reliance on sauce, overpriced for the quality. Yet somehow, there are these random 5-star “OMG amazing, million-star button!” reviews popping up with photos that don’t even match what they’re praising. Doesn’t take a genius to see the mismatch.
