I came with my girlfriend, and we both absolutely loved the food — everything was full of flavour, fresh, and clearly cooked with care. You can really tell they know what they’re doing.
The service made the evening even better. Ayush, our waiter, was excellent, and manager Amadi was also fantastic. Both were very friendly, welcoming, and greeted us with big smiles, which instantly made us feel comfortable and relaxed.
The restaurant was quiet and peaceful, which was perfect for a Tuesday night and made it easy to enjoy the meal and conversation.
Prices are very reasonable — around £10 per person for food, and roughly £15 per person including drinks, which is great value for the quality you get.
Overall, a great atmosphere, amazing food, and genuinely kind staff. We’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone in Chelmsford looking for a quality Nepalese restaurant. ️

I love this restaurant. Business has taken me to Chelmsford twice so far and on the first occasion, this restaurant was recommended to me and I am so grateful!
The restaurant is very well decorated and it has a lovely atmosphere.
The staff are happy and very attentive. You will be well looked after!
The food! The food is just fantastic!
On my second visit, I ordered Choila and Nepalese Lamb Shank (plus rice and poppadoms). The dishes were simply excellent and I am looking forward to my next business trip to Chelmsford!

Another great visit to one of my favourite curry houses. Always get a friendly welcome from the owner and the food didn’t disappoint. I had the Choila for starters and while I wish the portion size was larger, you can’t deny this dish is a taste explosion on the palette. For mains I had the always dependable Sherpa Kurkura which had incredible flavour and a good amount of heat, but not to the extent of being overpowering. Plenty of chicken and a lovely thick sauce, unlike the watered down sauce I seem to constantly get served up from another “popular” curry house not that far away. Ironically, while the Gurkha is obviously not a traditional Indian restaurant, in the sense people consider what a curry house to be, it serves what I think is one of the best curry experiences in Chelmsford. Traditional curry houses seem to be dying out, either becoming simply takeaways, serving the Deliveroo crowd, or turning into poncy, so called “contemporary” Indian restaurants, serving overpriced, different takes on curry classics nobody asked for. The Gurkha however is a little gem and long may it continue.

I last had traditional Nepalese food in London three years ago and that (until today) was the best curry I had ever had. Today I stand corrected. I took my family of four there, we each had a drink and starter which all in all tasted fantastic and was amazing !

It all came out very quickly, the service was tentative but never overbearing. WILL BE VISITNG AGAIN SOON !

Such a big surprise as we expected it to be very expensive, but when we got there it was full of choices and offers making it very easy to fit into our budget.
Brilliant service and even better food, so flavoursome, tasty and fresh. We were a larger party and treated very politely, attentively and with wonderful advice about the dishes too. Would highly recommend any day or for a celebration, as the lighting and atmosphere are the perfect dining experience.

My son treated me and my daughter to a meal here last night as he was keen to have a Nepalese meal after spending time in Nepal last year, his comments were that the food was as he remembered and very authentic, I had no compassion but the food was delicious served hot and fresh and incredibly tasty, portions were generous sized and service was impeccable
We had the set meal for 3 but probably only needed the set for 2 as there was so much food
I definitely recommend this establishment
