The was exceptional. The chocolate creme brulee was to die for but on my deathbed I wanted four more cherries on the creme brulee! They elevated whatever they did to that creme brulee tenfold. If you’re coming up the river, go ahead and pass New. Hope. This is worth a stop on your trip. Our server is the best we’ve had in years. The best place to hang out and meet the friendliest Upper Black Eddian’s as they call themselves. Great drinks and food. The owners Nick and Scoot wonderful guys. The cutest and friebliest bar tenders, Hannah and Sawyer the best! You all gotta come on down. Activities like triva, karaoke and bingo on different nights of the week.

Dare I say, “upscale local hole in the wall with amazing food”? Is that even a thing? Well, with The Gulch, it totally is. Staff might as well be your long lost friend. Food is freshly sourced (as in, they use their own spicy peppers to create some amazing infusions for cocktails). And, my fav part- awesome bar chairs! No one wants to go have some good food in a laid back atmosphere and sit on uncomfortable chairs. The Gulch got it right.

The most coziest place ever like your in a cabin in the woods, and all the people here are so friendly. A couple people had their PUPPIES with them which was the cutest thing ever…. And our waitress Hannah was also so cute and sweet. We will definately be back

I only had the boom boom shrimp, but that was enough to convince me I’ll be back. Crispy, golden, and paired with a dipping sauce that hit all the right notes—tangy, creamy, and just the right amount of kick. Simple, satisfying, and clearly made with care.
Their beer selection leans local, mostly canned or bottled, which I genuinely appreciate. There’s something grounding about sipping a brew made just down the road, and it’s clear this place is committed to supporting nearby makers.
It’s been almost a year since they reopened, and while I expected a packed house on a Friday night, it was surprisingly mellow. That said, the vibe was perfect—clean, warm, and inviting, with chairs so comfortable I actually noticed (and that’s saying something). A two-man band played live music that blended beautifully with the natural soundtrack outside: peepers, crickets, and the hush of the river. It was one of those rare moments where everything just felt… right.
The aesthetics are warm and lovely, and the outdoor setting is pure magic. Between the trees and the water, with music floating through the night air, it felt like a place that should’ve been packed to the gills—but I’m secretly glad it wasn’t. It made the experience feel even more intimate.

Me and my girlfriend went to the gulch tavern last night and everything was beyond what I could have imagined! It’s located 3 minutes from our house, and it’s so great to now know we have a local place that has great food and a great environment! Our server was amazing and we had such a great time!

Stopped by for an evening treat.
The bar staff is very friendly, personable and makes great drinks! We had a great time socializing with some of the locals, and looking at all the local photography posted on the walls.
I personally didn’t get any food, but I tried some food a friend got and instantly regretted not getting anything.
I will absolutely be back to get my own plate and hang out with some new friends!

Great local spot with great food and excellent service – whether dining in or taking out. Tara took our order for take out one week and took care of us when we dined in the next time. Both times the service was fast (but not too fast), super friendly and welcoming. The Gulch is a spot you instantly feel comfortable, whether going out for a night, or barely put together after a long day – best of all worlds!

The food…Ribs, fish and chips, cheese steak and the hanger steak is among some of our favorites.
