Had a chance to take some clients out for a post work dinner and chose The Guest House Austin. Been to the Las Vegas location, which was nice, but this one, just wow! Wednesday night, 6:15pm reservation, already pretty full. Chill music playing. By the time we were finishing our appetizers, they had an in-house DJ spinning some fantastic songs that picked up the vibe perfectly! Get seated, order some appetizers, table is constantly being touched by our servers, Amanda (who was amazing and I highly recommend requesting her if you book a reservation) and the team who made sure drinks were never empty, dishes were constantly swapped out as well as silverware. Truly an elevated experience. Amanda did a wonderful job engaging the table, took all of our orders by memory, which is risky but she did not make a single mistake. I asked her about it and she said it allowed her to stay engaged with the guests. Top notch! Everything she recommended was exactly as she described. It’s not often you get a meal where every single thing from the bread (almost criminal to call that bread because it was so delicious) to the appetizers (Steak Tartare, Spicy Rigatoni, Beets, Apple & Endive Salad) to the entrees (Rosewood, Cacio e Pepe w/ house made noodles, Short Rib, Veal Parm, Whipped Potatoes, Broccolini) to the drinks (too many to name but we did get one of their Theatrical drinks) and the desserts (Lemon Swirl Cheesecake, S’mores, and Ice Cream Sandwich). I don’t drink and I had mentioned it once at the beginning of our experience to Amanda so when we got a round of champagne to toast, she brought me a non-alcoholic, and with the Theatrical drink, she made sure I wasn’t left out and brought me a non-alcoholic serving of Mango Margarita).

The communication with The Guesthouse was fantastic from start to finish! After booking online, they reached out the afternoon of my reservation to confirm, then texted again 15 minutes before to let me know our table was ready — super thoughtful touch.

The hostess was friendly and seated us right away. We started with drinks and the bread I’d read so much about — and wow, it lived up to the hype! It truly melts in your mouth. My espresso martini was to die for — thick, creamy foam with just a hint of cinnamon that made every sip feel like an explosion of flavors. My dinner partner didn’t love her drink, but the staff handled it perfectly and swapped it out without hesitation.

For dinner, we both ordered pasta — she had the bucatini and I went for the spicy rigatoni. Both were excellent, but the bucatini had such amazing flavor that I’m already planning to order it next time.
Our neighboring table had some of the wild “fantasy cocktails,” which they kindly let me photograph — they’re gorgeous and super fun, though definitely a splurge at $60 each!

Dessert was an absolute highlight. I’m a lemon lover, so the lemon cheesecake was perfection — tangy, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. My friend ordered the sundae, which arrived like a whole campfire scene with toasted marshmallows, brownie bites, ice cream, and chocolate syrup. Cute, creative, and delicious!

The ambiance ties it all together — soft lighting, a DJ spinning great music, and an overall fun, upscale vibe. I’d definitely recommend The Guesthouse and will be back next time I’m in Austin!

We had dinner at The Guest House yesterday as a group of three, and it was absolutely fantastic! The service was outstanding — Nick took amazing care of us the entire time. He was super attentive, friendly, and his recommendations were spot-on Every dish he suggested was delicious, beautifully presented, and came out just right.
The atmosphere was warm and stylish, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed evening. You can really feel that the team here loves what they do.
Huge thanks to Nick and the whole team — we’ll definitely be coming back!

I have enjoyed every experience I’ve had at Guest House to date. The food is good, but the vibes are immaculate. They did a fantastic job with the classy decor, perfect lighting and the way they have a DJ at brunch and at night really sets a lively and engaging atmosphere.
The waitstaff have always been very attentive and thorough.
It was not hard to get a brunch reservation – and it should have been with such great energy.
You should come check this place out!

It’s a shame to give this a 3/5 because I liked the food. My expectation for a brunch is to be so full, to the point where I would consider skipping dinner. Even though I was down 2000 calories from running the Austin Marathon, I managed to drink 3 mocktails and eat 2 entrees (minus the fries). Maybe the establishment’s expectation is to order appetizers, but I don’t think that’s heavy enough to be a brunch.

The first entree that I ate was the Wagyu F.O. Burger, which was really juicy and not too oily. I think the onions were over powered by the other ingredients of the burger, but I still liked the overall flavor. As stated before, the burger is a bit too small and felt like a big slider. I was a fan of the truffle levels in the fries, but I really wanted more from the burger.

There was a lot more going around in my second entree, which was the Short Rib Hash. I could taste the peppers, onions, and the salsa, but I think the overall dish was a little too salty. I did enjoy this more than the burger because it was bigger than the burger, so that’s not saying much.

On a side note, there was an issue with my table (which had a circular bottom). I am a relatively small person with a healthy BMI, and even though I lost 5+ pounds from running the Austin Marathon, my table kept wobbling every time I put my feet on them. My plates and drinks would suddenly slide towards me, and I constantly feared them falling on top of me. I can only imagine would could’ve happen with a person that’s 20+ pounds heavier than me.

The best part of my experience was the service. Kawthar was a phenomenal server; she was always checking up on how well I was enjoying my food and was incredibly patient with my inquires in regards to the menu. I really wanted to give this review a higher rating because I could see the vision of the food and I enjoyed the service, but I can’t ignore the remarks I have with this establishment. I really suggest giving bigger portions because the size of one entree is not enough to be considered a brunch. Perhaps dinner would be a different story, but the latest reviews in regards to pricing and portions seem to align with my complaints.

Come here for a nice dinner! We made reservations ahead of time which was helpful. The service was tentative and even gave recommendations. The atmosphere as intimate and lively as others were having dinner. The food did not disappoint. This place is good for a date night too. I would come back!

I recently had my birthday dinner here with my best friends. Mike was attentive and knowledgeable and made wonderful recommendations. The sommelier also recommended the most amazing French wine. The food was excellent and the presentation was even better! Loved the atmosphere! I recommend dinning early if you want a quieter dinner. The Guest House was definitely a fun and adventurous dining experience. We’re already planning bringing friends for our next visit!

My husband and I had the most wonderful experience at TGH! From the moment we walked in everyone was so kind and welcoming. Amanda, our server, walked us through the menu and had great suggestions. We had the NY strip, wagyu pastrami, Mac and cheese, and the s’mores dessert.
When I mentioned to Amanda that I had been searching for the EXACT glassware that our drinks had been served in she worked her magic and made some available for purchase to us. It is rare that you find that level of amazing hospitality!

My food and service was an 100 out of 10!! So beautifully tasty. I had the scallop ceviche and rigatoni. Amazing! But service by Vaden made my experience over the top. She was super friendly, gave terrific recommendations and made my experience memorable. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in Austin.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. We went for a team dinner and booked the private room. Service was on point and the food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. We had several shareable plates and 3 courses. The drinks were also on point and everyone raved about the food. I would love to go back and try their regular menu.
