Live music, delicious food and great service we went on the Thursday night and there was a man playing country/calssic rock music who was very talented, we stayed almost an hour after we were done eating just to listen. We were seated immediately upon arriving, our waitress was extremely helpful- made sure we knew we qualified for the happy hour specials. We shared mozzarella sticks and fried pickles. Then he got a burger with fries and I got sushi. The beers were plentiful- lots of varieties but sadly no beer flight or the hubby would of gotten that to try more. The fishbowl drinks are HUGE and very tasty but super filling, I was stuffed by then end of our visit.

The atmosphere is what really made this place everything else was subpar. When we first got seated we were placed outside where there was construction and the noise was very loud The waitress then walked away without letting us know there was construction in the first place it would have just saved us time if she just let us know which is okay cuz she did place us inside shortly after. When we finally did get seated everyone was seated clustered together in one area which made it very loud and very unpleasant There was plenty of seats among the restaurant but they like to cluster people together which I guess makes it easier for the waitress just not my cup of tea. Now let’s get to the food The food is all right The prices are meh. I wouldn’t say the food is any better than food you would get fast food such as Burger King or McDonald’s it’s edible it just isn’t delectable. Don’t know if the soda machine was down but the sodas tasted flat. The fries were oversalted and other than that the it was overall a bland experience.

Very fun time with good food and a fabulous server last Saturday afternoon when we went to the Grumpy Monk. Check out the pictures of our food to see the delicious fish, chicken, and sides that we got. We got salmon, we got the fried haddock, and the fries and macaroni and cheese and salad were good and fresh. The soda was delicious as well. They have their soft drink machine set correctly so that all their beverages are of good quality. We live in Surfside, so we’re not up in North Myrtle Beach very often, but when we are we may have to stop by the Grumpy Monk again. There’s an arcade in the front with various games for kids of all ages. Also, the restrooms were clean when we were there which is a good indication of a well managed restaurant.

Our bartender Kassie was phenomenal. She was very attentive, made fantastic recommendations and made sure our time watching Sunday night football while traveling was really memorable.
We appreciate her attention to detail and engaging personality. We may even try to talk our extended family into coming back while we are still here. Our experience was that good

Hands down the best we have had since we have been at the beach for a week! Jack was the manager and he was working his tail off to make sure everyone was taken care of and satisfied. The food was by far the best we have had all week from Captin George’s to Hooters. Look them up i promise you wont be disappointed we were super satisfied when we left.

Wings are only so so not enough flavor. I got the garlic parmesan I expected them to taste like garlic parmesan but there’s not much on it at all. They even have a disclaimer when you order them that oh they look burnt because of some specific way they cook them but they still don’t taste good no matter what they freaking did to them. Almost no flavor I’d rather get mine at segrues across the street. Even the celery is stringy and the blue cheese is down right water also got the sushi tuna spicy appetizer. It was good but words of the wise it is not true spicy tuna sushi. The place seems to be run by kids but I have to say the two bartenders I think her name was Cassie and the boy might be Tyler I want to say are very nice very smiley and attentive. I went on a Saturday and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of regulars which is the kind of place I was looking for…maybe they’re all tourists but it doesn’t feel like you’re at home here like all the other restaurants I’ve tried while I’m down here. By the way they’ve got a wide array of craft beers and that’s awesome. And if you ask for a flight instead of getting 4 oz per beer you get 8 oz per beer FYI. I’ll have to come back and try some other kind of food because I definitely can’t recommend the wings this time.
As a sports bar they’ve got TVs everywhere. In addition you can bring your kids if you want to be your responsible and stick them in the game room and totally ignore them the whole time while you drink at the park LOL. I think this place might have really good possibilities maybe it’s my timing and I just would recommend that you don’t get the wings that’s all

We were a large group (13) and we easily and quickly accommodated. There was live music which kept the kids entertained. The servers were attentive and made sure to check in often while we waited for our food since it took a while for our entrees to come out. The food was excellent. Drinks were expensive but that’s to be expected. They have a large selection to make everyone happy.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a few locals (we were in town visiting). We came in for a late dinner and the staff was very kind and accommodating with us arriving one hour before close. Out waitress was outstanding. She was able to tell us some of her favorite items on the menu, and she was very attentive. The service was great start to finish.
Now, the food….some of it was great, the burger…not great! The chicken tenders were fresh, tender and had excellent flavor. Would highly recommend these for kids or an adult. You won’t be disappointed. The burger, while it sounded delicious, the bun was dry, the outside of the patty was charred to much to the point it tasted burnt. The fries were the saving grace for the burger. My wife got the chicken wrap with the sweet chili sauce! It was excellent.
With them all that said, I would definitely try it again, I would not get the burger though.
The restaurant is definitely kid friendly with lots of activities.

The food was ok but just ok. The waffle fries were both hard and chewy at the same time. The burger was good! The Cole slaw was under dressed. The Mac and cheese was over cooked. The wings were great and the smothered chicken was dry. The atmosphere was less than welcoming.

Very disappointed in the grumpy monk fish bowl drink. It was advertised with rubber duck and described as having fresh fruit, oranges, lemons, limes and cherries. From pic you can see, no duck and no fresh fruit. Paying $13.00 for a plastic fish bowl is a bit much. Father in laws hamburger was burnt.
Our party of 6 sat outside on the patio at a large metal picnic table. Not realizing that these tables were not secured, the whole one side stood up and my side, with my spouse and 90 year old father in law tilted backwards. Thankfully our 2 daughters noticed and quickly sat back down. Some scratches and a broken nail was the extent of injuries, but that is a lawsuit waiting to happen!
Our server was not friendly at all. Since they automatically place 20% tip on parties of six or more, I guess she felt she did not have to be friendly or helpful.
Way too expensive. It should not cost $200.00 for 6 adults to eat meals without alcohol or appetizers.
