In town for Father’s day and we walked in. Luckily they had an opening as they usually take reservations. It was buffet option only. The choices were good. The waffles were my favorite, no lie had 7 of them so got my money’s worth out of the buffet. They had an omelets station in the back also. Our server Kim was very nice and attentive. They also don’t hold the bubbles if you like your mimosas stronger.

Unfortunately, I was not able to provide a thorough review since they do not answer their phones when calling for information pertaining to their services I drove from Gaithersburg, Maryland all the way to to their location only to find out that no one was available to respond to phone calls or to provide information pertaining to any of the services at this location. They were closed when Google stated that they were open and there were no weather concerns at this time. Extremely hard to financially support an establishment that does not comprehend basic customer service. Attempted to make an additional visit to give the benefit of the doubt and the same exact situation occurred. My advice would be to find another venue of quality before venturing to this one. I dined here in on a Sunday afternoon in Feb. Although everyone was not totally happy with their meals, we had a great time, and all 9 went home feeling fine. Why? It was because of our server who was excellent, and she went out of her way, with just one hour to closing, to accommodate us. The kitchen was perhaps in shut down mode which made the wait for the entrees a bit long, and some items were unavailable. Our nice server made the most of the situation. We had appetizers – buffalo wings, crab dip and mac & cheese with braised beef. The first 2 were great, however the dippers for the crab dip were too few for our large group, so we asked our server for some chips. She graciously complied bringing us the best old bay chips – simply delicious with or without the dip. I did not taste the mac mixture bc it sounded weird. Three out of 4 who tried it did not like it. It’s great to go with a big group so you can try new things and share appetizers without filling up too much before your real meal. Most of our entrees were very good according to others in the group. Two people who ordered burgers (photo below) were very happy, and having tasted the sweet potato fries, I can say they were delicious. The crab cake was a generous size and I heard no complaint from, without a doubt, the best cook at the table. The kids meals looked good, and there were no complaints from the 2 picky eaters. Two of us ordered chicken curry (see the photo below). Big mistake – like ordering fessant au glass at a seafood restaurant or pork ribs at a Japanese Steak House. Still the chicken was tender and the broccolis was good. Only the sauce was lacking, hey, but what’s in a name? If I’d never had REAL curry chicken, I wouldn’t have been disappointed, right? One person had steak which looked very good but, was reportedly over cooked. Still if presentation and looks are prime, that dish and all others deserve an A. Desserts were all delicious and reasonably priced from the pecan pie to the ice cream sundaes, and not to forget the delicious cheese cake. Most of us agreed to come back again perhaps for brunch or Sunday dinner but a bit earlier next time. (It seems people really like the photo I took of the tables and chairs (viewed over 18,000 times.) So go check it out, and fill up the seats, won’t you!

The venue was really nice and has the potential to be great. I read the reviews prior to going and was hoping the food had improved but it hasn’t. We went for brunch and it was a limited buffet items and EVERYTHING was cold and old. The greens were the best part but they were cold. It was giving motel breakfast buffet and it’s $30 per person. This is what The Park on 14th charge for a full brunch. The Grove brunch is in no way comparable to the Park. The fish and greens were the only 2 edible items. It’s convenient and there was no wait. But as I sat down I understand why there wasn’t a wait. A few small changes to their recipes, menu and food set up, the grove has potential to be a neighborhood favorite.

Consistency is key!
I really don’t understand it. Two weeks ago, Taco Tuesday was great food. This week….just sad. The lemon pepper wings were dry, the chicken taco was dry and flavorless, and the shrimp tacos had shrimp with the tails on in them. WHO DOES THAT! The drinks are FULL of ice and have too much liquor without an appropriate amount of mixer so they didn’t even taste good. It’s unfortunate that this restaurant can never get it together. It would be nice to have a restaurant in the development where we can go and get good food and beverages on a regular basis…..but evidently this is not to be.

Myself, wife & friend had the worst experience at The Grove Restaurant. Drinks took hour. Refills took another hour. Appetizer took another hour. Meals took another hour. We were there for over 4 hours with no apology from waitstaff or more importantly the manager. The atmosphere was terrible. The manager, Rob is not manager material. If this were my first trip to Maryland I wouldn’t return. Why shout at me or my wife when the most unprofessional person was Rob. He did not care about service, but all he cared about was being paid. Service would have been better without him there. This is coming from a director of leadership, local law enforcement and military service member. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.

We had an underwhelming experience at The Grove today. We made reservations for 11:30am for Father’s Day. To our surprise and disappointment, we learned The Grove is no longer serving brunch. Instead, we were give a Father’s Day menu with a very limited food selection. We had a small party of 4 people and had to wait an hour for the food. We will not be returning due to poor food selection, mediocre taste and poor service.

The waitress added on to her tip! I had the brunch buffet which consisted of cold waffles cut into quarters, powdered eggs and salty fish. I served myself the whole time and only spoke to the waitress for a check. Even though I tipped her she added more to my tip when closing out the check. Thankfully I get an alert on my phone when a charge is processed!! Won’t be back.
