Edit: Went to The Grove a second time and ordered a different set of dishes this time around. The double need burger was good. The sizzler with chicken tasted great, and so did the penne pasta. The chicken sliders were awesome. The staff was very nice and active.
However, it’s clear the place doubles as a bar in the evenings is evident in a few unfortunate ways. The table they originally sat us at was clearly broken and the bathrooms were dingy, missing stall doors, and soap dispensers ripped off the wall.
The food we ordered was mediocre and not up to par for our dinner. The sandwiches BBQ beef and BBQ chicken were okay, the beef was mainly mushy. My biggest problem however was the poutine fries. The gravy was separating and had a weak lemony taste. The cheese wasn’t melting and tasted off- like the slightly moldy end of bag of shredded cheese left in the fridge a couple days past good.
The food deserves a standing ovation. Wings so good they should be illegal. Burgers that demand your full attention. Every bite feels like the kitchen is saying, “Yeah, we meant to blow your mind.” You don’t eat here — you experience it.
And let’s talk about the bar. Drinks crafted with confidence, generosity, and just enough chaos to keep the night interesting. Whether it’s trivia, karaoke, brunch, or a random Tuesday that somehow turns unforgettable, The Grove delivers every single time.
The staff? Absolute rockstars. Friendly, fast, and somehow always right there when you need them — like they’re reading your mind but in a non-creepy way.
Bottom line:
If you’re in Binghamton and you’re not going to The Grove, you’re doing it wrong. This place turns ordinary nights into core memories. Come hungry, leave happy, and don’t be surprised if you’re already planning your next visit before you even walk out the door.
10/10. No notes. Long live The Grove.
We visited the Grove for the first time on a weekend evening during an event downtown. The establishment was VERY busy.
On our visit we waited about 15 minutes for a table. After we were seated it was about 10 minutes before a server took our order, at which point we ordered both our drinks and entrees consisting of a couple specialty cocktails and the chicken Philly Cheese steak and the Lemon Pepper Filet of Fish.
I was a little disappointed to see the lemon pepper filet of fish wasn’t dressed quite the same as their menu photos, but this was ultimately a very minor gripe considering how busy the establishment was at the time. The food was good with good portion sizes. We were in and out of the building in about an hour and 20 Minutes, which isn’t too bad for how busy they were.
Overall we would give The Grove another visit. We were happy with the food we received and would be interested in trying them again on a slightly less busy day.
