Big shout out to Cody who was playing the guitar and singing. And he was good Totally set the vibe for a great dinner and they have live music on certain days . Rio Linda is coming up . High end energy in this place come out and support local .

I don’t know what I am eating but it is good came out in a cast iron thing and a fancy plat . I am coming back
Be warned everything comes out fresh and super hot it will burn you mouth
Just saying. Also the pizza garlic smell is amazing it just keeps getting better. I asked for a pop and they brought me out this fancy soda in the bottle with cane sugar. Highly recommend.

Nothing short of fantastic! A real gem! A friend had recommended The Grotto, and we happened to be visiting in the area, so we thought we’d give it a try. It was a bit hard to find, tucked away in the Rio Linda Shopping Center, but I’m delighted we persisted. It’s a really cozy spot. The decor is tastefully arranged, the ambience warm, the service attentive but not intrusive. The food was magnificent — as tasty as its truly faultless presentation. We shared the stuffed mushrooms, and I had the Paesano flatbread pizza. I find myself getting hungry just thinking about the experience. It may be a fair jaunt from where we live down to Rio Linda, but I don’t doubt we’ll find our way back to The Grotto sometime soon.

Between the five of us we all had something different. After taste testing each other’s dish, im convinced that anything on the menu will be great. Oh and the Pull apart bread that we had was amazing. We are a difficult bunch that require everyone pay separately and they were more than happy to take care of that because we let them know up front. We will definitely be going back. Great food! Definitely exceeded our expectations. I had the Chicken Florentine, it was cooked perfectly and delicious. My son had the Prime Rib Dip, super flavorful and amazing. We will definitely be back! We are looking forward to exploring more of the menu. The only bad thing I can say is the wine tasted a little old, like open for a few days.

This was not normal restaurant fare, this food was “home cooked” comfort food and sooo delicious. I had the cottage pie and am eager to return even though I live 20 miles away. Natalie, the owner was a joy to talk to.

We were so surprised to find this great Italian restaurant in an outdoor mall in Rio Linda. It was clean and bright and my wife loved the simple but “cute” decor. We usually go very early for lunch, and when we arrived at 11:25, there was only one other family there enjoying brunch. They do a brunch on Saturday and Sunday, but they still have a lunch- focus available (charmingly called the “unch part of brunch”).
We got the stuffed mushrooms and “basket of love” for appetizers, I had the fettuccine with garlic cream sauce and added shrimp, and my wife had the bolognese rollatini.
Everything was great, but the standout for me was my fettuccine. It was so tasty that my wife kept taking some, despite really enjoying her rollatini. The basket of love was also fantastic; love is expressed by lots of delicious bread and heroic amounts of butter and parmesan.
There is a 5% surcharge for credit here. That didn’t affect our experience, but it’s good information to have if you plan on bringing a big family here.
By the time we left, there were several other tables full, but plenty of room left for more.
It is definitely a good endorsement that my wife and I were already planning our trip back while we were driving home.

I was craving Italian and was in Rio Linda so I decided try it. When I got there I was greeted right away. The staff was really friendly. I just ordered for take out. While we were waiting they gave us complimentary drinks( tea, lemonade, water). The food was delicious and the service was great. It’s pretty pricey for the portions you get. I ordered a lasagna plate and it was $21. It came with lasagna and a slice of garlic bread. A little side of veggies would have been nice and made the plate worth the price. I would recommend this place because the food is delicious but the portions need to match the price.
