We really enjoyed the food here and it was easy to share as a couple. Our favorite was the broccoli dish with whipped ricotta. The flavors came together very well and the broccoli was cooked perfectly! The low country pilau tasted fantastic without being heavy and really gave me the feeling that I was eating quality whole food ingredients. We also had a nice crispy sourdough bread and some churros for dessert (not pictured). Be aware that the churros order is HUGE and can easily be shared between 5 people.

An incredible meal. Was difficult to determine what to order because it all sounded intriguing! Many vegetarian options because they are heavy produce, but so much better! Had eggplant for our app, fish and pasta for dinner.

The steak was undercooked for how I asked for it. The sweet potatoes were incredibly hard. So, probably undercooked too. Unfortunately, couldn’t eat much of my plate. The service isn’t great either as we kept having to call the server ourselves instead of them checking on us to see if we needed anything. Mind you, we were the biggest group in the restaurant. They could’ve tended to us better. Now that being said, the server was really nice and offered to help with the whole dish situation. The restaurant itself lacks charm, in my opinion. Some folks in my group said their food was delicious, so it’s kind of a gamble.

Had a great visit with friends! We had a reservation and were seated promptly by the window, which gave us a nice view and a quieter atmosphere compared to the main room, which was a bit noisy. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. The only downside was that we weren’t offered a dessert menu, so if you’re hoping for dessert, be sure to ask.

Bonus: they have a paid parking lot, but you can validate your ticket after paying the check, which is super convenient. Overall, a solid experience!

Popped onto Charleston late in the evening. They accommodated us and fed us delicious food, and you could tell they put a lot of love into these dishes. They pair ingredients in a unique way that is both delightful to the taste and the tummy.

My friend and I came in for a quick dessert and a glass of wine after dinner. We were sat immediately and the hosts were super nice and asked if a booth was suitable. After taking a quick glance at the menu our server Anna came and greeted us, walking us through the dessert menu. We mentioned that my friend has a nut allergy and Anna quickly confirmed with the kitchen that the nuts she was allergic to were not in or on the dessert we ordered. The Ricotta almond cake was DIVINE. A perfect suggestion made by our server. It practically melted in our mouths! The textures were soft with a bit of crunch at the end from the almonds! Overall it was an amazing experience! We will absolutely be back for a full course meal! Thank you Anna!

We came to groceries several times in the past and have not been to this restaurant for a while so we decided to check out this place and made a reservation last week. We had a wonderful dinner at the grocery and pretty surprise that we didn’t do it sooner.
Our server was friendly and quite knowledgeable with the menu and drink
The restaurant was roomy and has a good lay out.
We had the storey farm half chicken dish and the potato crusted tile fish. They were so good. The yellowfin tuna crudo and broccoli salad tasted amazing as well. We will be back!

The Grocery is a welcoming neighborhood eatery dishing out fan favorites sourced from farmers, fisherman, and friends. We had a large party and they were very accommodating. They let us eat and catch up with friends. The standouts from the meal were the bistro steak and story farms half chicken but everything was delicious. Charleston has lots of great spots and You can add the Grocery to the list! We will be back!

We’ve been going to The Grocery since they first opened and have, without fail, loved the place and everything we’ve ever had.
While we are serious carnivores, the vegetable-forward menu is always a nice change; their braised cabbage is fantastic, as is the oyster mushroom plate.
The Thai-inspired beef tartare was wonderful and my only “complaint” is that it wasn’t served with any kind of cracker/toast/etc. Not a problem as we had bread on the table, plus extra benne crackers from the smoked fish pâté.
Prices are a little less than other high-end Charleston restaurants, I think because of their emphasis on vegetables and local seafood.
Service has always been great: knowledgeable, friendly, and sincere. I love that they always clear and re-set side plates and utensils between courses.
The Grocery never got the hype of places like FIG, but are definitely in the same class, and I’m always surprised their reservations aren’t as fully booked as their contemporaries’.

Excellent drink menu, delicious small plates. The pork belly, peaches, and eggplant plates were all very well done, and I normally avoid eggplant. Everything is well balanced and thoughtfully constructed.

The potatoes with the steak were uniquely prepared, thin sliced, and then restocked.

The Au Pear cocktail was delicious but a tad small, or at least that was my perception.

Would absolutely come back. Rachel was our server, she was very helpful and accommodating.
