On our travels back home to the Coachella Valley from Springfield, Oregon, we needed some good food to get us home. Google recommended this spot, which took us down a nice detour through farmland, then to this charming small town of Newman… and, man, The Grille was worth it!
The staff was super friendly, the outdoor seating area was lovely and perfect as we had our furrbaby with us.
Now, the only thing that outshines the friendly waitresses, how accommodating it was and charm was what we came here for… THE FOOD!
The coffee was much better than your standard diner, I got the daily special which was the Santa Fe Omelette that had a delicious chipotle sauce with a perfect kick, with bacon, advocados and yummy peppery goodness in the middle. I ordered biscuits and gravy on the side, also yummy! Biscuits were fluffy.
My wife ordered a breakfast burger , both the meat and egg were cooked to perfection.
This spot and town might be worth driving 400 miles to visit.

I have driven past this place more times than I can possibly count since moving to Newman and never noticed it. My wife was looking for somewhere new and close for breakfast out and saw this joint in a local online search. That was a nice call. Excellent food and service. We both had shrimp omelettes. Delicious. Even the hollandaise was perfect which I usually avoid because most places don’t do it correctly. I know the wait staff is on point when they don’t let my coffee cup get cold! Will definitely be coming back often.

The Grille is a very charming, local cafe serving all the basics plus offering interesting daily specials. I have never been disappointed with the quality and freshness of their delicious meals. The servers are welcoming, cheerful and very diligent. On this visit, I enjoyed a wonderfully prepared Tuna Melt and fries. Common fair perhaps, but beyond delicious….. My sister had chicken strips, fresh garden salad and fries. She enjoyed her meal immensely. If we hadn’t been enjoying our lunch so much, we might have been jealous of guests at a neighboring table who were having some amazing breakfast dishes. I will certainly be trying the fancy waffles next visit!

The establishment was nice inviting and friendly. The food was amazing just like the presentation and the chefs whom prepared the meal. I find that the pricing for any of the menu items cant be beat. The daily specials are different everyday and thoughtfully creative. Love the people like the decor “vintage hollywood “.

Pretty good diner food. I’ve been here twice. Had a club Sandwhich and a bacon burger so far. Both meals were great but once I was charged $.75 per serving of bbq sauce and and ranch and another time I wasn’t charged for these same request. We were told about the condiment charge at the register because the price was not listed on our ticket. Knocked a star off for charging for condiments and not informing us about the charge until after the meal.
