I got the wedge salad and crab cakes. Their house made habanero butter and house made cinnamon butter with rolls are SO good.
Service was wonderful, so friendly. We are staying at Eisenhower State Park and it’s only 7 min away from here!
Nice to get cleaned up for a minute and have something this delicious!
The view of the lake is very relaxing. This is a place that does not rush you, that’s always nice.
We had a bit of everything. Started with drinks and the seasonal charcuterie board, a nice selection of cheeses, meat, fruits and other good stuff. My husband had the lobster tail & seafood ravioli, loved it. I had the brisket stuffed ravioli it was so good. Topped it off with a few bites of carrot cake. We took a lot home, but that’s good! Highly recommend checking this place out.
The food was amazing! I created my own brunch plate so I could try all my favorite things, and wow — everything was delicious. The sweet potato biscuits with honey cinnamon butter were incredible, the sage biscuits and gravy were off the charts, the bacon was perfectly cooked, and the grits were absolutely phenomenal. Can’t wait to come back!
We each ordered shrimp scampi based on the description posted. When they served it, and I saw what it looked like, I was perplexed, but as soon as I tasted it, I knew it was NOT what I was expecting. There was so much seasoning on there that I had difficulty even trying to eat it. We asked our waitress to come back to our table and she politely did and when I asked her about it, she told us they were going for more of a Cajun style. Had we known it was Cajun style Shrimp Scampi, neither one of us would have ordered it, but under the circumstances, my gracious husband took it and we ordered something else. He suggested I ordered the filet mignon and we asked for it to be medium rare. When they brought it back, my husband said he thought it was a fast turnaround, (my husband is a good cook and often prepares dishes at home,) and then when I looked at the baked potato, I thought, how many times have they warmed up this potato? Frankly, it was very dry and did not taste fresh at all! I then took a bite of my filet mignon and told my husband, I think they’ve put Worcestershire sauce on this, it does not taste good at all. I asked him to taste it, and he thought they had put soy sauce on it. Nonetheless, it was not good and there was NO WAY we were going to eat that. It was a $36 meal and I gave it back to the waitress. I was appalled at the quality of food that was presented and given to us. My husband said, even the toast that came with the shrimp scampi was burnt, and for us to travel as far as we did to go there, I expected quality. I understand having a one time flop, but this is the second time we’ve had one and it was definitely the WORST we’ve ever had! I do want to say, that our waitress was very nice and it clearly was not her fault.
As a regular patron of The Grill at 84 West, I can confidently say this place is at the very top of my list when it comes to dining out. Every visit is consistently excellent, and it’s the combination of warm service, amazing food, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps me coming back.
Staff: The staff here are truly exceptional. From the moment I walk in, I’m always greeted with a smile and treated like a valued guest. The staff are fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. They remember my go-to order, offer great suggestions, and somehow manage to make each visit feel personalized. The whole team works together seamlessly, and their professionalism is matched by their warmth.
Food: The food is hands-down some of the best in town. Whether I’m ordering my favorite Cajun Crab Cake Benedict or trying a new dishes, the quality and flavor are always top-notch. The ingredients are fresh, and every plate is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. It’s clear the kitchen takes pride in what they do—each dish is a standout in its own right. I love when the chef comes out of the kitchen to check on me or goes the extra mile to offer to stock peanut butter for my pancakes.
Atmosphere: The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and refined. The expansive windows give way to a beautiful lake and lush green view, the decor is stylish, and there’s a subtle energy to the space that makes it feel vibrant without being noisy. It’s a great place for a quiet dinner during the week or a celebratory meal on the weekend. No matter the occasion, it always feels like the right choice.
All in all, The Grill at 84 West isn’t just a favorite—it’s the favorite. It sets the bar for what a great dining experience should be. If you’re looking for a place that gets everything right, this is it. Highly recommended!
