I stopped here for lunch and I’m so glad I did. Although I live out of state now, I grew up in North Dakota. The chicken and dumplings were incredible and made from scratch. I had a craving for German cuisine, and it completely fulfilled that desire. It brought back memories of my mom’s and grandma’s cooking. I also sampled the homemade Butterfinger pie, and it was absolutely fantastic. The service was quick and welcoming, and the dining area was tidy. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

The service is super friendly with great suggestions on what food to order.
Lots of what they serve is homemade, such as the ranch for the potatoes. The pies are amazing, also homemade. Try the southwest burger

Wonderful, welcoming restaurant with amazing food! We stopped in for the chicken & dumplings today – I’ve never had better. I grew up in ND but live out of state, and I’ve been planning my visits back to include at least one two-hour round-trip hit to the Grill. It’s just that good. The service is also over the top; Mark is very accommodating and quite entertaining. PS: the blueberry and peach pies did not disappoint!

I live in Michigan and travel to North Dakota once a year to fill my freezer with pike. I had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful hometown diner 5 years ago. The food and service are great! The deserts are to die for! Not many small town restaurants make you feel like you are at home anymore…. This place does that for me! The owners make you feel at home and special! In fact, this place is on my list each and every time I visit the great state of North Dakota. Definitely worth the visit! Love love love this place!!!

We are traveling through and stopped for lunch here in Linton ND. We are from a small town in Colorado and this beats it in friendliness. Food was great and so was the conversation and service. We tried different foods than we had eaten before. The German influence was great food and you gotta try the soup! It was great. I can’t remember the name of what we had but it was good.

#ComfortFood – Hot Hamburger with mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. This meal brings me back to every wonderful memory I have from growing up in rural North Dakota and eating Sunday dinner with my grandparents.

I took a little road trip off the beaten path and landed in Linton, ND at the Grill & Lounge.

So many smaller towns in rural America no longer have a local cafe to eat at so this was a fabulous surprise.

North Dakota’s small towns tend to be misleading in terms of good eats. The highest rated restaurants in this state are usually in the big cities, but there are so many hidden gems hiding around in the tiniest of towns that could easily rival and even surpass them.

The thing about these small town restaurants is that they don’t really look like much from the outside, but they serve the most amazing food on the inside.

This restaurant in the town of Linton, ND is a perfect example, and you have to try it! — at The Grill.

I’d say any day to stop at the grill is a good day, the menu has a lot of great options, and the staff are more than accommodating to make sure you feel at home. The coffee is hot, the regulars are friendly and the owners are good people, one of the owners, Mark was our server! Tuesday is chicken and dumpling day, and Friday is German day– meaning knoephla and kraut is on the menu. Also, be sure to grab a piece of pie while you’re there.
