Nice diner with great service and good coffee. Husband ordered Wild West Scramble, basically the works, described as “Bacon, sausage, ham, bell pepper, onions, and pepper jack cheese scrambled with two eggs, served with hashbrowns and toast.” All of the breakfasts looked delicious. But we were fortunate to be there when breakfast and lunch were both being served. I ordered the unique sandwich which was over-the-top delicious: “Golden Gate Our signature sandwich – turkey, tomato, avocado, red onion and jack cheese on parmesan and red pepper crusted sourdough.” Wasn’t sure about the sourdough bread but it was perfect, grilled in butter and cheese, although I didn’t see any red pepper in it (which was fine with me). Also, there was a lot of red onion (which was fine by me) so that may need adjustment depending upon preference. The turkey was good medium-thick slices and lightly grilled which I liked. Not being very hungry, I was able to take half of the sandwich home to reheat, after eating all of the avocado at the restaurant, and it was delicious again. It was so delicious that I almost forgot to mention the cinnamon roll. It was covered in a soft icing that we have come to like, the roll itself was soft and flavorful, and we liked the price and size of it. And, this place appeared to sell a lot of pies, a lot of pre-ordered ones for Thanksgiving dinners being picked up.

If you’re in town, definitely try this place out! This is a nice café with some fancy touches. There is a reason it is scored so high on this platform. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Place is clean. There are some minor maintenance issues like a water-cooler outside that has plastic flapping in the breeze, but seats are comfortable.

Wow, who knew such a great place was only steps away from our hotel. My husband, love him endlessly search’s for places that may be able to feed me as I have significant restrictions.
Today he found @thegriddle ! From the moment we stepped in to paying for our meal – this place was HOPPING and the staff were energized, helpful and careful with my food prep.
Husband had an egg white only omelet with veggies, sourdough and hashbrowns. The omelet was the best he has had anywhere. Well cooked, not over seasoned, and good portions of veggies with a balance of cheese to veggies. The bread was tasty and the hashbrowns were delightful being crispy without being overly greasy – cooked to perfection!
I ordered their red roasted potato. These are double cooked – deep fried in vegetable oil, the second time in the griddle per order. They added sautéed onions for me as well. I thought I was getting two sides of potatoes – they FILLED the plate.
Both orders had generous portions and tasted great. Great chef – who caught my restrictions and verified what I could eat. Their follow through for dietary restrictions is AWESOME !
The place is pretty cool too and loved all of the stained glass!

Always a delightful time visiting The Griddle!! I’ve been stopping in since I was 8 or 9 as we’d travel across the country from California to Wisconsin & back. I’ve since brought my daughters! Food never disappoints! Excellent staff. Highly recommend if you’re traveling through make a pit stop! You won’t be disappointed!

This place is amazing! Had the Eggs Benedict and Carnitas Benedict. Both were perfect. Eggs done just right and top notch hollandaise sauce. Service was fast and friendly – right on top of the refills on drinks. For being around for decades it was very clean. I will absolutely be back and will highly recommend this place to my friends and family.

This place was surprisingly good. And the menu has so many things I want to try. I went with the corned beef hash which wasn’t what I was expecting but good. The shredded pork Benedict was great and crepes too. Very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend.

If the heater in our trailer had not failed last night ( brrrrr! 35 degrees outside) we would have missed this gem of a restaurant. From the time we walked through the door until we left, full and happy, we felt the attentiveness of the well trained staff; The Griddle is more than adequately staffed, no waiting, delicious food, which they split for us with no charge, has clean stocked restrooms, family friendly, accommodating large groups, a beautiful yet rustic interior and super attentive wait staff. It is a very popular place for good reason. We have been on the road with our travel trailer for 7 weeks now and this breakfast at The Griddle , was the best of the whole trip! We will definitely come back to Winnemucca in the future just to eat at the Griddle.
