BEWARE, not worth it. We would prefer to have left a wonderful review as we do for many vendors and local businesses. Stopped to charge car at the new FPL EV stations and ate breakfast quickly. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t impressive. place was fairly empty on a Saturday at 930am. No host or greeter. The employee behind the counter did greet me and said sit anywhere. No menu brought to me, food was not delayed but lacked flavor and didn’t taste home made or even fresh fresh. Pricing was inexpensive and lots of loud political decor all over, a bit obnoxious including televisions with political broadcasts. Plaza had fairly recent remodel and plenty of parking. Outdoor seating available too by the plaza sidewalk, Restroom not very clean, and not sure about their food handling procedures as we didn’t have a table near kitchen.

I’m someone who loves leaving positive reviews, especially when I have a genuinely great experience, so writing this feels very foreign to me. Today, while washing bedding next door at Speed Queen Laundry, I walked over to The Griddle to grab something to eat.

When I approached the front counter, the woman working there was busy with side tasks and told me to go find the waitress who was clearly already running around handling multiple tables. She even called out to the waitress a second time, and the waitress responded, “What are you doing? Why don’t you help her?” That interaction alone told me everything I needed to know.

Both employees seemed uninterested and disengaged, but I was especially taken aback by the woman at the front counter. Even when I mentioned I was ready to order, there was no effort to assist, no acknowledgment, and no sense of basic customer service.

I ended up walking out and going next door to the coffee shop instead.

I believe in supporting businesses and uplifting great service, not tearing places down. But this was truly a disappointing first impression, and I hope sharing it encourages the management to improve the guest experience.

Update: I went back a really nice young man helped me. Found hair in my food. So it’s a hard pass moving forward.

We were looking for a breakfast place and did we hit the jackpot! The atmosphere here was cozy, very patriotic (which we loved) and food was excellent! If I lived in Florida I’d become a regular here! I wish NJ had a place like this! I highly reccommend!

Honestly they could have done without all of the political stuff all over the place. I have never been to a place that shoved Joe Biden down my throat but this is one of like 10 places I’ve been to in Florida that shoved a bunch of Trump propaganda in my face. The food was eh? The service wasn’t bad. The atmosphere was uncomfortable. I don’t think I’ll recommend this place to anyone nor will I return.

At times, I’d rather not give a bad review, but here we go. I do understand that it was Father’s Day, and yes, it’s going to be a wait time. Hubby and I packed our patients, and we were cool with it. We got there a table for two easy peasy, a table of 5 came in after a table of 3 and so on. We ordered everyone’s meal came out before ours. We asked our hostess, and she said “oh those are not my table” ugh? Mmm ok we finally got our breakfast like OVER an hour later eggs, beacon, home fries pancakes.
The pancakes were stiff as a board like they were just reheated over and over. So I asked our hostess if I could have toast instead… Sure, I finished my meal still no tosted… I even cleaned up the table thennn my toast came out. OK, no biggie. I ate it and asked for the check… sat around waiting, finally got it, so I decided to just get up and pay & here is why I felt the need to say something!
Our hostess was in the kitchen she came out touched the door touched her face Thennn went to the open sliced bread Jammed her hands in it NO GLOVES flipped them all around & back into place then tied the bag came to me and checked me out! So was that the same bag of bread she made my toast from??? Mmm
Never Again. I’d rather eat at McDonald’s even though I dont.
This by no means is to get anyone in trouble, but please, you must have a conversation with your staff about handling food. Unacceptable!!! You can not touch your nose, mouth doors, and then put your dirty hands inside the bread bag and flip them all around.

Update responding to owner: She clearly didn’t even read the review. There is a BIG DIFFERENCE between being playful and fun with customers vs EATING FOOD CUSTOMERS PLATES AS IT COMES OUT THE WINDOW. I seriously doubt her regulars want her unwashed hands eating their food. I watched it multiple times so it wasn’t a one off. And I can tell you when I was there this playful fun atmosphere she is wanting to claim wasn’t happening. This issue still remains that quality of food is poor as their biscuits are so hard that the Panthers could use them as hockey pucks, owner is rude and takes tips from staff, and the list goes on.

I came here based on the reviews and left very disappointed. When we first arrived, a server with brown hair and glasses on her head seemed to be frustrated . As we walked in, she did not greet us and instead pointed towards the back of the restaurant and said “Sit back there”. She then rolled her eyes as she rushed to one of the tables and let the other server know it was “her table” and to not take their order.

Our server was Joanne and she was wonderful. She was very personable and the only good part of the experience.

After ordering, since we sat in the back of the restaurant, we were able to observed everything happening. We watched as the server with brown hair and glasses on her head, grabs food from the kitchen window and eats fries off a customers plate. Yes, off a customer’s plate. I wish I was kidding. She then took that plate and served the customer their food. I was dumbfounded and in disbelief. Then we observed the owner eating at the same kitchen window while preparing bagels and toast for customers. We could tell they are very comfortable with eating food off customers plates and while preparing food. This is completely unprofessional and incredibly GROSS!

We received our food and it was okay. The biscuit was hard as a rock. It was so hard you couldn’t stab it with a fork. They replaced the biscuit and I could tell it was microwaved and not “freshly homemade baked” like we were told. The food was nothing special and it was expensive for the portion size and the quality of food.

At the end, after we paid, we noticed we were charged $7.00 for a coffee instead of $3.50. My husband asked for refund, the owner called the server over for what she said is a “teaching moment” and instead of giving us a refund, the owner had my husband deduct from our server’s tip. I did not like that as she was the only good part of the experience and I feel she does not deserve that. I did voice to the owner that I did not think that was right and that Joanne deserved the full tip, and the owner stated in front of Joanne that she would make sure she got the money that we were told to deduct from her tip. I really hope she does.

Overall, I wanted to like this place but there was too much that happened that left a bad impression and then to add poor quality food on top of it, I would never return. Especially in Boca where there is endless of places with great food and customer service.

Delicious food for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Food comes out fast and fresh. They cook with Beef tallow as well which is a huge plus and you can taste the difference. Service has been excellent every time and the location is very convenient. The kids also enjoyed the food and said it was delicious. I had the frenchi sandwich, a western omelet kids had chicken tenders with fries, an egg sandwich and a waffle. Very happy customers.

I have found this cool little diner in boca off of spanish river road. It is an excellent breakfast and lunch style family restaurant. The food is always served warm and fresh with a smile from a very happy waitress Joanne. She will keep your coffee filled and warm. Always good for a smile and a quick joke. They do accept credit cards. As that was my form of payment. This is turned into a very welcome establishment. They have in the area.

A favorite casual spot for breakfast and lunch, for years. This place brings back memories from old time diners up north before coming to Florida in 1986. The food and prices are very good.

This owner cares for his customers. If a server was off a day let them know, if not received speak with the owner, they will make it right. The staff still calls you sweetie. That may not set with some but I love it. I bring high end real estate clients here and they love it. ❤️
