One of its greatest draws? A wonderfully long happy hour that runs from 2 PM to 7 PM, offering guests the perfect window – five full hours – to unwind, settle in, and savour something special.
The bar program here is exceptional. The wine list is thoughtful and varied, the cocktail menu is creative without being fussy, and the overall selection shows a real respect for both classic and modern flavours.
What truly elevates the experience, though, are the spirited bartenders, Amy and Benjamin, whose warm service and easy conversation make the bar feel like a place you’ve been coming to for years. Their recommendations hit the mark, and their energy adds a brightness to the room that’s impossible to miss.
As for the food, The Gregory shines just as brightly. The Vault Burger is a must-try – savory, satisfying, and one of those burgers that stays on your mind long after the last bite.
The Sensation Salad is light, refreshing, and the perfect balance to the richer offerings. And the garlic truffle fries? Crispy, aromatic, and decadent perfection.
To round it all out, a pint of Purple Haze from Abita Brewing brings a wonderfully refreshing finish, especially during happy hour.
With its steady buzz, lively conversations, and effortless blend of historic setting and modern hospitality, The Gregory is a place where you can truly immerse yourself in the best of downtown Baton Rouge.
Whether you’re settling in for a long happy hour or stopping by for a memorable meal, it’s a spot that delivers charm, flavour, and warmth in equal measure.
What stood out even more was the building’s architecture. The original design and elevators have been preserved, giving the space a unique charm that blends history with elegance.
Overall: 5/5. Highly recommend for a sophisticated evening in downtown Baton Rouge.
The crab cakes were the best plate we tried, with real seafood. The burger slapped as well. The patty was great chuck.
