First off, after reading some reviews.. this is not a high end restaurant and shouldn’t be expected for gourmet food. With that said, the items they do have exceeded our expectations for the quality and care that went into each dish! I ordered the highly recommended fish and chips and my wife ordered the crab and avocado, on a brioche bun, and sweet potato fries – both dishes were hot, fresh and well-proportioned and you can tell the locals and tourists, like us, enjoy it!

Fantastic location in downtown Laguna Beach California. Plenty of out door seating to enjoy your lunch in the sun. Had a nice cup of coffee and a crescent. It was decent. Lots of people watching from this vantage. Volleyball games happening and strollers along the strand. With the beach and vast pacific as a back drop, it’s worth the time to have a Spanish coffee and a sweet roll under the umbrella.

Stopped by for lunch today and had a grill chicken sandwich with Swiss on a baguette and fries. The sandwich came with one slice of tomato which barely fit on 1/2 of the sandwich and I have never received such a small order of fries. I noticed that regulars plates had about triple the amount of fries. It took awhile to get and the sandwich was good once I finally got the tomato but I did have to go inside to request it because no one was coming out.

At this historic and iconic café of Laguna Beach, you’ll find a wide selection of Americana and traditional seafood selections, but at what may be too premium of a price for most. I tried the fish and chips and they were very fresh with a crispy beer-batter breading combined with moist melt-in-your-mouth cod that explodes with flavor. Served with cole slaw that was fresh, crisp and not too creamy, and steak cut fries which I feel could have used a pinch of more salt or seasoning. The fish definitely process why they are “Laguna Famous” but the price felt even more premium for what I think is their targeted clientele.

This restaurant is a local staple and has been around for years. They have a reputation for good food and beautiful views. They are right on the beach so make sure to sit outside and you can see the water and also watch the volleyball games.

Stopped here for dinner on way back from day trip to Laguna Beach and SJCapo. We had the fish and chips and salmon tacos. Food was pretty good. Salmon tacos were flavorful and had plenty of salmon. The spot is right on the beach in a busy area so good for people watching. For a quick lunch or dinner. It’s a good place to try.

There are exactly two reasons this place is still in business: great location, and friendly staff. Now let me give you four reasons why it should be out of business.

Our experience at this restaurant was marred by an unfortunate incident. Despite three weeks of pleasant holiday dining, this establishment left a sour taste in our mouths. The waitress took it upon herself to determine the tip she should receive resulting in an inflated total bill of $88 for what should have been a $65 overpriced meal. The service itself was minimal, involving merely taking our order and delivering the food.
