The Greene Turtle started in Ocean City as a place where beer was king and the menu consisted of a barrel of peanuts. Over time, we’ve grown an obsession with making good food and a belief that staying true to ourselves is what matters most. We make hearty food using fresh ingredients and highlight the blue crab dishes that are authentic to the Mid-Atlantic. Gather around and try food that’s so good that you’ll have to share.

The service at The Greene Turtle was extremely disappointing.
We visited on a Saturday and ordered food and drinks. After being there for nearly an hour and 45 minutes, we still had not received our food. When the meals finally arrived, several items were incorrect, and some food was missing altogether—despite being charged for it. They refused to take it off the bill and did not give us the food we purchased. As a “resolution”, two of the three parties were given $10 gift cards which didn’t even cover the cost of the missing food and it was unclear why the third party was not included in receiving a gift card.
We decided to return the following evening for a girls’ night to take advantage of their advertised $2 margarita special. Our waitress on Sunday provided much better service, which we appreciated. However, when we received the bill, the manager informed us that we did not qualify for the $2 margarita promotion because we had not purchased an entrée—even though we ordered four appetizers and had requested an entrée that was never received.
Additionally, we were told we could not use the two $10 gift cards because of the margarita special—despite being told moments earlier that we were not eligible for the special. The explanations were contradictory and confusing, only applying the special to some of the drinks and not all of them.
The “manager’s” handling of the situation was unprofessional and dismissive. When asked for further assistance, she was unable to provide clear information, even stating, “I think my managers name is Lisa. That’s all I know,” when referencing her own manager. The overall experience demonstrated a lack of accountability and customer care.
Being charged for food that was never received and then denied the ability to use gift cards issued as compensation is unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience has left a very negative impression, and I will not be returning. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes meaningful improvements to their service and communication.

If I could leave a negative review I would. I went last night and there were barely any customer in the place. But out of all the customers. Myself, my cousin, and one other person were the only black people in the restaurant. The other gentleman left after no one came to serve him after he sat for over 30 min. We only got one drink and were never asked if we wanted a refill or anything else after sitting for 2 hours. While the manager and another server kept sitting it a group of girls and the two guys seated at the bar kept getting service. I don’t think I’ll return. There were 9 patrons total in the restaurant yet we could barely get any service. This isn’t the only time it’s been like this at this place.

Around 4:30 is when I dinned in. The service was nice and quick. The restaurant was basically empty. Only a few tables were filled.
The food came out within 15 min. And I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade. It was amazing.
When the restaurant got warm from all the windows, the manager closed the blinds- which was nice.

Attended the New Year Eve Celebration, we were a party of 2+. We have a nice time, food was ok, friendly servers, we were unlucky with our server, D.S., it appeared he didnt want to be there, rushing on us to put the order, then he appeared he wasn’t aware of the 2 for 1 drink promotion and wanted to charge us full price for drinks, we had to point out to him the promo. IF I go back to the place I would ask for a different server. I want to higlight other servers that were very friendly that provided service to us! They made our night.!

If you want a beer, this is your place. If youre looking for mixed drinks, you may want to try some other restaurant. My Lemon drop was bland and the sangria after tasted like cranbery juice from concetrate; you know the kind without the sugar!
The food is to be expected from a pub style eatery. No very much presentation and it wasn’t even warm or hot, maybe tepid to give you an idea. I won’t be going back as I did not enjoy this experience and I doubt a do over will do it justice.

We went to The Greene Turtle for a later afternoon weekend lunch. Our server was friendly, but inattentive. The restaurant wasn’t busy and no other guests entered the restaurant for about 10 minutes after we were seated. It took 25 minutes for our appetizers to be delivered to our table and another 15 minutes for our meals to be delivered. Our drinks were empty and after finishing our meals our server was no where to be seen and we waited another 15 minutes for our bill. Our food was decent, but everything was unreasonably slow.

My family loves Green Turtle. My husband orders the Blackened Chicken Quesadilla, and I’m hooked on the Apple Pecan Salad with shrimp. We both love the chili. We’ve been ordering from them for years and have only had one issue, which Jimmy fixed right away. Shout out to him! Green Turtle is one of my go-to gems in Charles County.

We stopped in after a family funeral. The staff did not know this, but we were treated very professionally. They also changed the tvs closer to us so we could watch the fight. The wait staff was training someone, and they both did great. I loved the rock fish nuggets and the crab cakes. I live now on west coast so a yuengling was very nice. Would for sure suggest. If you are looking for a small place that shows sports, good fried foods, and delicious seafood.

My co-worker went there for lunch today, on her short lunch break, and waited over a half hour for a quesadilla, and never got it, even though the place was not very busy. She is too nice to complain, so I will do it for her. Get your act together.

We’ve had awful service the last couple of times we have been there but last night was the worst. Our server smelled so badly of cigarette smoke. We sat in the bar area and it took forever to be greeted. Our food came out wrong and the server, Ashely, didn’t even know because she never came back. Someone else took care of it. In the time they remade the meal and brought it back out, she still never came back over. I ate the entire meal and she still never was back. We never got refills on our drinks or the salt we wanted and finally I went to the bar and told the other bartender that she hadn’t been back, I really wanted another drink and others we were with wanted to order more drinks. They sent someone else over with the check, instead of our server coming over to check on us. Super disappointing dinner.
