Had lunch yesterday with my family, the server was excellent and attentive and he was alone. My dad’s, my sons and my daughter in law enjoyed their food and it did look great. My husband and are were not real happy, my New England Clam Chowder was soupy thin not thick and creamy and had lots of onions, carrots and celery but only 1 clam, yes only one, the taste was more like a chicken broth. My husband had the Mac and cheese with shrimp, the Mac and cheese was great with a nice crusty top but only 2, yes 2 shrimp. Use to love it hear but maybe not for me anymore.

The Green Olive is a hidden gem that I wish I found sooner! My son, husband and myself had dinner here on a Wednesday night and we were all impressed by the staff and food. Kelly, our server, was friendly and made us feel welcome. All our food exceeded our expectations! I had the lobster ravioli that rivaled higher priced restaurants in Bergen County. My husband had a pasta dish with shrimp and sausage that was excellent. We were informed by Kelly that Dennis, the chef, previously owned a restaurant in Sparta and to our delight it was a place we frequently dined and greatly enjoyed their food. I would highly recommend Green Olive and I do not think you will be disappointed with their quality and variety of food.

Me and my husband visited this restaurant earlier in the week, and i haven’t had time to write this review until just now. Me and my husband of 25 strong years of marriage, ordered the salmon dinner, as well as the fried calamari appetizer. My husband absolutely LOVES the taste and smell of fish, so we were expecting a treat…. WRONG. The salmon was very obviously frozen, and the calamari were rubbery, and reeked of dirty fryer oil. As soon as we got home, we started to notice an illness lingering among us. We are in our 60s, and in all of my time being alive, i never have tasted such foul fish. God bless.

I’m leaving this review due to a serious concern about professionalism and customer privacy.
A couple days ago, I stopped in briefly for one shot and was inside for no more than three minutes. I was the only customer present, and the only employee there was the bartender, Vaida. No one else entered while I was there.
The following morning, I was contacted by a man I do not know who referenced my visit to this bar. Given that no other patrons were present, this information could only have come from the bartender on duty. Sharing a customer’s presence with outside individuals is unprofessional and a breach of privacy. Especially to a man I do not know and stated “I have eyes everywhere” which is clearly concerning.
This experience was unsettling and should be taken seriously by management.

When we arrived, the entire exterior of the building smelled like sewage. While there we were able to get 1 drink as the bartenders are not trained to handle multiple customers. We could not get any food as we tried to order mozzarella sticks and were told they didn’t have any though another member of our parter got them? While trying to pay our bill it was completely wrong and the bartender argued with us that it couldn’t be split and we would have to pay twice which I refused. Needless to say we don’t recommend this establishment and will not be returning.

I ordered a Greek salad and a BBQ cheddar bacon burger for delivery. The salad was terrific, they even put the pita bread in a separate container so it didn’t get soggy. However, I ordered mashed potatoes as a side for the burger and I received French fries. I also ordered it to be cooked medium well, and it was more like medium RARE. I’ve been dining at the Green Olive since the original owners opened it, and I know the owner, TJ, very well. Since he owned Woodys Liquors actually. And I also know the fabulous chef, Dennis. But this is just insane. The burger wasn’t edible for me and the restaurant phone just kept ringing with no answer. Very upsetting to say the least.

My wife and I were there February 14th 2024 for Valentine dinner I would like to say the dinner we had was fantastic I had the baby lamb chops that were cooked to perfection and my wife had the scallops and she said it was absolutely delicious the service was great the atmosphere was pleasant. I highly recommend the green olive!

I’ve passed the Green Olive for years and never went in until recently. My only regret is that I didn’t stop in earlier. The food is not only a great value but tastes good as well. The staff is friendly and attentive as well.

We like the burgers and go maybe 3 times a year. Today getting directions decided to check reviews, was surprised at how many 1 stars.
We went, sat down already had a good idea of what we wanted. Asked to have bruschetta appetizer put in while we look over the menu. No I’m 50, been to many restaurant over the years, from high end to dive bar joints. I’ve never been told, I can’t put an appetizer without the whole order, they don’t like when we do that… huh??
Said we need a minute while processing what just happened. Waitress came back, took our order and said you still want the bruschetta?? No, no we don’t want the bruschetta anymore.
Now they lost a bruschetta sale, and we even said after that weird situation that it’s probably our last time going there.
What restaurant in the service industry tells a customer the chef doesn’t want us to put in an order (appetizer) unless it is a complete table order???
Now I know why they have 1 stars reviews…
