Came here Friday night around 7PM. Wasn’t packed at all and we got seated quickly.
They start you off with some bread and olive oil.

Appetizers

Tyrokroketes – 10/10 recommend. They are pretty much mozzarella balls, but with feta cheese.

Mozzarella cheese with tomato – 10/10 recommend.

Fig and Goat Cheese Flat Bread – 4/10. I usually enjoy eating flat breads. I think the bread itself was good. But the caramelized onions were not tasty to me. If you’re a fan of goat cheese, give this a try, but maybe tell them to add less onions.

Entrees

Lavraki – so this dish, my partner really enjoyed 10/10. We got it butterfly cut. I personally did not enjoy it. I added black pepper to it and the lemon provided. Which made it taste slightly better. This is supposed to be a “sweet delicate dish” so if you’re looking for something light and healthy, this is the dish!

Lamb shank – I don’t recall this dish name. (Might be called the Arni Yuvetsi Kritharaki)
I thought the lamb itself was a bit too chewy and the rice (I think that’s what it was), had an odd taste to it. I would prefer white rice instead. But maybe that is their traditional Greek flavor, not sure. Overall I would rate this dish 6/10. My partner rated it a 8/10.

Overall, the staff was friendly. Our server was great! This restaurant definitely gives Greek vibes!
I would come back to eat the Tyrokroketes again and try the hummus. The chicken dishes also sound appetizing!

Great service and delicious food. If your craving authentic greek food this is the go to spot. I had the Soulvlaki chicken which was very good. The place was very clean and very greek ambiance with music and decor. Prices were very reasonable and large portions. Definetly will come again. Highly recommend.

This was a first Greek restaurant we have ever been to and it was a great one. The restaurant itself was inviting and well-lit. Hostess greeted us in a friendly manner. Our waitress was also friendly with lots of smiles. She explained to us some of the favorite dishes. We ended up ordering the seafood soup (Kakavia) to share, and lobster pasta (Astakomakaronada) and lamb shank (Arni Yuvetsi Kritharaki). All dishes we ordered were fantastic and flavorful. One minor ding on this great meal is that all dishes were just a little over seasoned for us. Other than that, I highly recommended and would definitely go back!

We had a fantastic experience at The Greek on Main in Metuchen. The branzino was absolutely amazing—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and one of the best I’ve had in a long time. My wife loved her scallops, which were beautifully prepared and full of fresh, vibrant flavor.

The service was attentive from start to finish without ever feeling rushed. Everyone we interacted with made us feel welcome and well taken care of.

Overall, a wonderful meal and a great night out. We’ll definitely be returning!

I came here with very high hope but was unfortunately disappointed. Went on a Monday lunch, there were just three other groups in the restaurant, hence almost empty.
We still had to wait for over 40 mins after placing the order for the food to arrive.

We ordered the lavraki and the red snapper. The lavraki was good. The red snapper was stale and smelly and was almost uncooked inside. We told the service staff. She confirmed the the snapper was 3 days old but said “we cannot do anything about it”.
Felt horrible to pay close to $100 for stale uncooked fish.

Clean facility, pleasant, friendly, professional servers and staff. My server, Cassie was smiling all the time and was very attentive and knowlegeable. The food is delicious specially the Lamburger and Souvlaki. The desserts are delicious as well specially the chocolate Baklava and Sokolatopita. I truly enjoyed dining here and highly recommend it. It is a must experience kind of a restaurant. Make sure to ask for Cassie. She is amazing.

The owner is a sick character who doesn’t want to hear anything negative about his restaurant. The waitress was offended when I didn’t eat their uncooked food and asked her to the full plate back. I ended up with a terrible stomach ache after eating uncooked, stale food. When I complained to him about the quality of food, he asked me to go to a hospital. Apparently he can’t stand insult and anything against his restaurant. For your health’s safety, DON’T go there. They charge a weird operation fees of $6.Service was okay. I’ve been to several Greek restaurants and this place can easily win the worst restaurant award. The food was horrible. Left very bad after taste. We had ordered calamari for appetizer and cold spread. Calamari was partially cooked and charred for the other part. If you prefer lemonade, they get you a bottled lemon drink that’s like a soda. Chicken soup was bland, no salt, no taste of any sort. For main course, swordfish was so hard and terrible to eat, it tasted like a bitter medicine. You can’t have more than a bite or two and look at the price that you pay. Even the cold spread, just the bread was soft but the spread were tasteless and awful.
Definitely avoid visiting as it’s an expensive place serving medicine like food!
The dessert was a disaster as well, bitter tasting dessert. Excess of cocoa powder used, hard ice cream that won’t melt even after 15 min.
When the server asked for feedback, I gave her the frank feedback and she left saying that it was just my taste. For two people, amount was $165 minus drinks.
All the emphasis was on the decor!

The Greek on Main was an excellent choice for our work dinner! The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentically Greek. Their grape leave salads, in particular, were outstanding – so vibrant and perfectly balanced. The ambiance was welcoming, and the staff provided great service. Highly recommend for a delicious and memorable dining experience

This place has great good, comparable prices, and great service. It has nice cozy seating and great service for any take out too. My husband and I eat here like twice a month. We are partial to the Greek honey balls and the chicken souzlaki. A great place to eat or have a party.

Great space, service and food. A bit pricy so might be more of a special occasion type spot.
