I’m surprised by the low rating to be honest. I ate here 3x while on vacation (twice for the hotel breakfast package and once for lunch) and I really enjoyed it every time. The food is pretty expensive, not gonna lie, BUT you get HUGE portions. Not ONCE was I able to finish my food. And I was sad because the food was SUPER tasty! The service isn’t fast but it isn’t slow either – I believe they cook each order as it comes in so with that in mind it was a good pace. The employees were all very friendly and gave me free water during my stay anytime I asked for it as well. The atmosphere is nice. Low lighting, while still visible, and super comfy seating. Overall I had a great experience and would honestly probably return if I was ever in Tacoma again, even if I wasn’t a hotel guest lol.

We stayed at Marriott courtyard but chose to come over to the Great Room for an evening snacks and drink after my work at 9ish pm because we thought they might have better option. We were not disappointed. We came on a mid week (can’t remember if it was Wednesday or Thursday night sept 24/25) and met a very cheerful staff. Her name is probably Hannah (according to the front desk). We ordered chicken wings and clam chowder and cocktails. The drinks came quickly and so did our food. The chicken wing was soooo good ! We asked for the sauce to be on the side and the meat was well marinated and juicy. The soup was also tasty with generous serving of clams. Hannah was attentive and chatted with us. I love her bubbly personality and her smiles. We were back on Saturday 9/27 before our dinner reservation at the koi because of Hannah’s great service. We were helped by a male colleague as Hannah was busy . He too was very thoughtful. He brought our drinks swiftly with a check since we may be paged by Koi restaurant anytime soon. I just wanted to compliment this crew for making our dunning experience so memorable because of your thoughtfulness, attention to details and wonderful service.

We had breakfast here using the hotel’s dining credit. The food was above average, and the restaurant’s location on the first floor of the hotel was a big advantage. We ordered the Eggs Benedict and Forged Mushroom Hash. The Eggs Benedict wasn’t particularly special but stayed true to the classic taste. Similarly, the Forged Mushroom Hash had a mild flavor. The staff was very friendly. However, for a hotel restaurant, they could pay more attention to cleaning.

The service was excellent! The food was decent; I had the market salad, which was quite tasty, along with sweet potato fries. While it wasn’t the best food I’ve had, it was surprisingly good for being inside a hotel. The outstanding service really sets this place apart and justifies my 4-star rating. My server was great and very friendly.

Highly recommend you check out this place. Room arrangement and furniture is really nice and modern. Had an avocado toast. Service is quick, especially when there are fewer people. Food was presentable and quite tasty. If you’re staying the night at the Marriott hotel, it’s a must.

The food was decent, I would definitely eat here again if I’m ever in the area. Theresa, my waitress was a real one. Fantastic service! She deserves a raise

Went to the Greatroom before attending Elton John at the T. Dome. Things were hopping because of E.J. And MNF. The Greatroom team did a nice job. Salad was great, nice glass of wine and I enjoyed my entree. The Greatroom is also only 1/2 block from the Link rail and they have a nice parking garage.

The server is so rude! I feel racially discriminated
She was even cursing when I ordered the food
Worst restaurant experience ever

I was very disappointed with the service at the hotel. The rude waitress has been visibly ignoring me and scornfully speak to me for few times. Just can’t bear to be humiliated anymore!!
Hope the manger can fire the disrespectful waitress.

Disappointing Experience Despite an Empty Restaurant

I waited over 10 minutes to be seated while the staff completely ignored me. The restaurant had only three tables occupied — it clearly wasn’t busy. There was no explanation or acknowledgment from anyone, just silence. The entire place felt lifeless, almost like it’s only open because the hotel needs to keep it running. Even the grab-and-go shelves and fridge near the front desk were empty. Overall, it gave the impression of a place running on autopilot, not hospitality.

Go for Haley! Ask her about her beautiful tattoo– get an espresso martini and get your life changed. What a wonderful human she is; what a phenomenal person you have in your orbit. She is meant for great things– thank you for giving her a platform to show how remarkable and radiant she is.
