Outstanding new Mediterranean restaurant in Oceanside! We have been longing for a Greek restaurant worthy of repeat visits, and this place did not disappoint. Hubby enjoyed a generous Gyros Greek salad and I had a heart-and-soul warming Avgolemono soup (creamy lemon chicken & rice) with pita. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food was served with a minimum wait time. Pro-tip: rice pudding for dessert…just do it. Definitely a great add to Oceanside’s ever-evolving food scene. We’ll be back!

I came by for the first time and was immediately blown away by the friendly atmosphere!! Several employees warmly greeted upon entering the restaurant.
I ordered the Greek Salad with a chicken skewer; there was a longer wait due to it being busy + a lunch rush, and the gentleman that gave me my order offered a side of their rice pudding as a token if appreciation for my patience.
The salad was fresh, really tasty with the dressing and the chicken breast was properly cooked and surprisingly juicy!
I would definitely recommend calling ahead of time if you’re in a rush, otherwise I have no complaints!! ✨

Good food but…. expensive! The salmon dish was great but small portion of salmon for 23 dollars. The kids meal was 14 dollars and very large, way to big for my 2 year old. The small and large salads are only a dollar apart which is odd. The gyro was big and a great price though. Overall too expensive for a family to come often. Not worth 75 dollars. Would rather get more for my money elsewhere which is disappointing.

The hubby and I have been anxious to try The Great Greek since it opened, as we (especially ME) are huge fans of Greek cuisine. I must say, this place did NOT disappoint! From the time we walked in the door to the time we left, the employees were all so friendly and efficient. The owner Sam is just the kindest man, and so humble and friendly to all patrons.
Now to the best part….the FOOD! Holy moly, I ordered a plate of dolmades and we both had the Great Greek Gyros, which was SO tasty good and absolutely the *biggest* gyro sandwich I have ever had the pleasure of eating! The dolmas were equally delicious, particularly dipped in their amazing tzatziki sauce…which incidentally, is honestly the best I have ever had. We also split a plate of fresh pita and tzatziki sauce, and I am telling you, I could just eat their sauce alone with a spoon and be super happy. It is BOMB!
Long story short, we cannot wait to go back and try some of the other selections on their vast menu. They definitely have customers for life, here! Thank you, Sam, for a wonderful dining experience, all the way around. OPA!

Cute cafe style place with good greek food. We ordered some gyros, feta fries and lemon potato. Everything was very tasty and served hot and fresh. The only complaint was that the lemon potato was $8 and only came with 4 potato wedges and six slices of lemon. When I mentioned this to the managment they were very apologetic and offered some discount coupons. Unfortunately we are not local and could not use these, but it was kind of him to offer. The rest of the meal was good.

This was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t expect such good cuts of meat from a place this small. The prices are fair for the quality and portion sizes. The baklava ice cream was a novel idea and tasted great! I wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again.

I absolutely loved this placed, i came in first time, i was greeted right away. The staff are great and good at suggesting foods to eat. I got a Great Greek Gyro and a side of fries, being my first time eating Mediterranean food I really enjoyed it. I will definitely come again some other time.

I tried first time the newly opened The Great Greek where I live.
The place is beautiful, and as I entered I was greeted and felt nice. Place is super clean, organized, and well managed. I asked JC ( great customer service, smiled and very respectful) the associate about her recommendations and I got a Beef plate and a Lamb plate.
I’m not disagreeing with price knowing what’s going on with tariff and etc, but I felt the plates were small in portions. Taste wise I have had really delicious Greek at other establishments. The plates not only lacked tastes but also the lamb was well under cooked, to a point that meat pieces were red inside and did not eat them, the beef was much better though. Def needed another 10 minutes to cook the lamb meat. There were nothing special about the plates.
I will def try them again and this time I will dine in to see if there is any difference with dine in and take outs. The hype that was built up for this place was not there. I am a business owner myself and I don’t want to sound negative, but it’s important to feed the eyes first before the stomach.
Will be back and I recommend you to try them yourself.

Food was delicious! We ordered the falafel plate, gyro plate and the steak souvlaki. All were cooked well and came out hot and their baklava is super yummy!
