Our mission is to make wholesome homestyle food and dining options affordable and easily available to our customers. Great American Diner & Bar was started in July 2017 as a reflection and representation of the spirit of this great country. It was founded on deeply-rooted principles of good quality everyday food from traditional recipes, perfected over three decades, and served with warmth in a cordial diner-style setting — to make every customer feel at home.

There is nothing great about this place! And definitely nothing American here.. We were family of 4 dinning breakfast, order 4 dishes (a
1 each) plus coffee. I ordered a Waffel (they did say it’s only 1 and comes with fruits) and when I received it this is what i got in fruits – 1 whole strawberry cut into 6 pieces and 11 tiny berries.. Not even a compot! When I asked the server about this she said that’s how it comes and we need to order extra fruits! (I had already paid $12.99 for that stupid dish). Same story with Grilled Veggies dish we ordered. Hardly any veggies in that!
They did served Chicken Wrap and kids menu fine as said on the menu. But we felt ripped off with other 2 dishes! Never coming here again for breakfast! There are 4 other places within 12-15 min of walking distance better than this!
They also messed up on our billing! They over charged us on Kids Meal when we explicitly asked them to Substitute meat and eggs with Hashbrowns. Before ordering she said it won’t charge us extra to do that. But when we received the check we were over charged $2. When we asked to correct it server made faces to show us down! Finally they did remove the charges.
Just serve what you say OR say what you serve when customers ask!

There are good reviews of this place. My meal was abysmal. I ordered Eggs Benedict, but asked if they’ll could be poached medium because I don’t like them super runny. My waitress says that’s how they’re already done and assured me they would be fine. NO JOKE my eggs came out barely soft poached and 75% raw. Absolutely nowhere near medium. Hashbrowns were swimming in oil. Mimosa was good, so walked out with one positive experience.

This is a family-oriented restaurant serving diner-style American food. There is a bar to the left as you enter, so it’s isolated from the restaurant. For families with small children, that’s a good thing. Its big draw is the location. It’s central to everything in downtown Issaquah. We’ve eaten here before watching plays at the Village Theater and attending a history presentation at the Train Depot Museum. The Issaquah Troll is a 10-15 minute walk away. Free parking lots are scattered in the area behind the restaurant, and there’s a back door leading to them.
This property does not pretend to be a Michelin-starred gourmet dining experience. The food is simple, attractive, and tasty, with reasonable prices.

First time here after meaning to visit for a long time. Small, good atmosphere, great service.
The chili was tasty, tho would be even better with a thin layer of raw onions on top, and maybe some more heat.
The chicken fried steak did not meet expectations – overdone and gravy lacked flavor.
The cheeseburger was very good, but the patty also overcooked.
Real OJ, but best to get your coffee elsewhere.
We’ll be back to try some more of that menu!

First visit, close to a location we were leaving. It’s typical diner food. Huge menu selections from all day breakfast to lunch to dinner. The food was mediocre. Not terrible. The salmon on my Cobb was weird. The salad was fresh. The Reuben was good, the ham scramble food. Affordable. Drinks whether hot tea, or soda was the same price. The people were very friendly and nice and service was great. Atmosphere was fine. The owner I believe was very friendly and attentive. Didn’t like the music playing on some sort of stereo or boom box. It was too loud.

Clean, good food, fast service, amazing atmosphere, and hefty servings. The food isn’t going to blow you away as top tier, but it’s the best diner food I’ve had in the king county area. Will happily go back. Got the veggie scramble which came loaded with veggies, and the country potatoes were very good. Has vegetarian options!

Deserves all the high marks. Great food, reasonable prices, clean, and impressive service. My breakfast burrito was delicious and loaded with organic eggs. Great cup of coffee. The gentleman who served me could not have been kinder or more attentive.
This was my first time in and I’ll definitely be back.
The recent comments and ratings regarding rudeness or smell are complete rubbish.

We came here after visiting a nearby business and decided to get something to eat. This restaurant had just done a soft opening and we wanted to give it a try. Initially the expectation was for a diner setting. But instead it felt more like a waiting room at a doctor office. But this really wasn’t a huge issue. The food and service make up for the lack of diner styling the place has. Our server was amazing and fast with the good. I ordered the chili and salmon. Both were fairly good, but nothing happens extraordinary. There were several other good looking menu options. It’s absolutely a place that is still opening and learning how they want their path to continue. A change of atmosphere and some more work on the types of dishes and this place will be great. I’m excited to come back in the future.

I took my teenagers here on a Friday night and it was great! The service provided by Linda was fast (but not rushed), friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant was clean and had an older American diner feel.
I was in the mood for breakfast (served all day). I had the chicken, fried steak and eggs, and the gravy on the chicken was wonderful! All of our portions were good sized, and the food was really good! I’m sad it took me so long to find The Great American Diner in Issaquah.
