Visiting Galena for the first time, and The Grape Escape was recommended. We stopped in later at night as we heard there was going to be a live band. Searchlight Soul was the band playing 90’s grunge music. They were great. Drinks were tasty and the service despite being busy was on point. Stop in here if you’re looking for some good drinks, live music, and fun atmosphere.

Stopped at this bar for some live music which was great, drinks were delicious service was great at the beginning but then of course as any service industry place they got busy & towards close it was a little tough trying to get a hold of a server but overall still a good experience.

Galena has plenty of places to drink, but not after 8pm…the grape escape is one of the few bars that remains open later. Super fun atmosphere with live music & friendly people. I loved my mojitos. We went here two nights in a row!

Great bar with exceptional service. The bartenders were both very friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the drinks they offered. We found this place online when searching for great bars with yummy cocktails and to say the least they didn’t disappoint. I had a few Bourbon Old fashions that were made with muddled blue berries and they were absolutely delicious. My wife had a few various cocktails and she was happy with them all as well. We tried our luck at the gambling machines and even won a few bucks before leaving. The atmosphere was casual and laid back and we loved our time there.

Don’t even consider going in here if you are a person of color. You will get horrible service. Waited more than an hour for food to get served when it wasn’t even close to being busy. Rude server (tall white guy) took one of the menus before we could even order. The food was average at best. You’re better off eating somewhere else.

I pass through Galena a lot for work but I never pass up an opportunity to pop into this bar. I’ve read a few of the negative reviews for Grape Escape and I really feel like those people mistook the quirkiness and character of this place for abrasiveness. They are a private business and, as such, they can run the place how they see fit.

Hear ye hear ye! I’m going to let you in on a little secret… The Cat House & Grape Escape is where it’s at!! The hospitality & generosity of Miss Kitty & Rick are second to none. The amenities were comfortable, clean, cozy & quaint – everything we were hoping for on our Christmas vacation. Their dog-friendliness is unmatched & the view of main street was the cherry on top. If we ever come back to Galena, this is where we’ll be staying! The Grape Escape downstairs was a home away from home – a hub of amazing cocktails, scrummy pizza, talented & entertaining musicians or just a quiet place to spend your Christmas Day, doggies & all. I couldn’t imagine a better way to have spent our Christmas than all together in a bar with Miss Kitty & her guests. ❤
