This place is a lot of fun! Great beer choices and good wine selection. The staff and other people are friendly, dog friendly and they often have live music – a bluesy country boy was playing when we were there – played a mean Allman Bros, “Tied to the Whippin Post.” Good place to stop!

Awesome and relaxing. They have wine tasting on Fridays. If you buy wine there, there are some restaurants in the area that will allow you to bring purchased wine from Grape & Ale(with a receipt) for a small or no corkage fee. Check with the management at Grape & Ale for details.

On my first real visit to the Oak Island area and I stumbled on to the Grape and Ale on a cold Sunday afternoon. I saw they had tables outside which worked great given I had my dog along. Turns out they are dog friendly and eventually, after enjoying a beer outside, was able to go inside and enjoy warmer temps, company for my pooch, some good beer and very friendly patrons and staff. I got to meet the owners of the “Ale” side and they were absolutely wonderful, welcoming and friendly. I can’t wait to go back when the weather is warmer. The beer was excellent, the wine selection looks equally wonderful and the vibe is so incredibly comfortable. I hope to make this a regular stop on my ever increasing trips to Oak Island.
