This is my favorite restaurant in all of NJ. I moved to Florida 2 years ago, but on my trips back to NJ I make a point to come here more than once because it is that good. The creative dishes and drinks are always on point and made to perfection. Menu is changed up every 3 months or so, you never get tired of the same old menu items! The owner Ashley is always on site and is always absolute pleasure to deal with!
Wine list is made up of very affordable and unique wines that you typically don’t see.
Service is always top notch. Can’t recommend Grand Tavern enough!! I literally recommend every item on the menu.

Had some incredible dishes, uniquely crafted. Pork Belly Skins were perfectly cooked, crunchy, sweet with Thai sauce and peppers with some serious kick on the side.
For Entree I had crispy pan seared scallops tender and very little sand (which is to be expected)
Maybe only 2 out of 5 medallions had a grain of sand but the sauce and corn salad it came on took my dish to another level.
Inside is dark and can be loud but we had a quiet corner for a Wednesday.

This place is special! The food is good (the salt on the tuna crudo is a little intense, but the shrimp aguachile is lovely). The burger is a ten out of ten- super juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The scallops were pretty good too but the burger stole the show. I would definitely come back here

Came here strictly for the burger, we got mussels as an app that we devoured before I could snap a pic, burger was amazing, we could only get a reservation for the bar but I would recommend if you want better service to try your best to get a table here. It wasn’t horrible service, but not as engaging or friendly as I would like personally.

Food was delicious and unique – we came on a bustling Friday with a reservation, and was seated immediately. The service was good and it really felt special inside. A tavern vibe, dimly lit, and tastes that you really can’t find in the immediate area. It was definitely pricey, but we will definitely be coming back and keeping this in our rotation for date night spots.

We’ve been dining at grand tavern for well over 5 years. Almost every time we go there, they are usually lovely – impeccable service, great drinks, no rush for time at table. We dined their recently and spend well over $1K for a large party and our experience was anything than what we have experienced in the past – they rushed us at every corner, brought our bill 3 mins after we received our desert and they asked us to get up from our table right after we received our desert which was not even the 2 hr. mark. This was anything but premier service – we are extremely disappointed with the cost plus brash and rude attitude by the staff and management. We will never return to grand tavern again after many years of service. They used to have the best burger in Monmouth county but I’d go elsewhere for better food and service given the money you spend.

Grand Tavern will always have a special place in my heart — it’s where I had my first date with my fiancé, and we’ve made it our anniversary tradition ever since. The decor might not be fancy, pretty, or aesthetic (it’s actually part of its hidden gem charm), but everything else more than makes up for it.
The food is incredible — they rotate their menu often, and we love ordering a few small plates to share each visit. Every dish and dessert has been consistently excellent. I also love that you can watch the chefs at work; it gives the place such an authentic, welcoming feel.
The staff is another highlight — you can tell they’re treated well because we always see familiar faces, year after year. I’ve lived coast to coast in many states, and this is still my favorite. I recommend Grand Tavern to everyone and even give out gift cards so others in my life can experience it too.

I’ve been coming to The Grand ever since they opened. I’ve NEVER been disappointed. This place is absolutely my favorite restaurant. Period. Always consistent. Always amazing. Great service, drinks, atmosphere. The current menu is one of my favorites, and you must come to The Grand. Thank you for making a perfect experience every time.
