Been here three times and the food and service has been exceptional every time. While expensive, the prices are justified by the atmosphere, service, and food. The three course, four course, and tasting menu options allow each diner to pick the dishes that most appealing. They are also very accommodating for dietary restrictions. By far the best food I had in the two years I spent in Chapel Hill.

took 15 minutes to get a drink after being seated with a reservation. waiter was knowledgeable but couldn’t seem to keep up, never offered bread, so we asked for bread, and never got it. My “snifter of Baileys” order arrived under-poured and in a rocks glass. They were busy but the place is small. We were overcharged for our 3 course special, and waited an extra 10 minutes to leave while that was taken off the bill. Bathrooms smelled like a tennis club.On a positive note, the food was good.

This review is for the Granary which does not seem to have it’s own review page. We eat here at least once a week as we have a second home in Fearrington. So we have tried just about everything on the menu. I have to say it’s excellent creative casual dining and the people and service are pretty much off the charts. It’s North Carolina Rural meets Parisian Bistro and it works. It’s a very comfortable place to eat. Initially we just had the local craft beers with meals, but recently we tried a few of the cocktails, and they are pretty good and extremely creative. We have never had anything on the menu that was regret worthy, and just about everything is better here even when it sounds like a classic like Fried Calamari. They manage to add a little something that makes it better than anywhere else. Our favorites are the Lobster Sausage Risotto, which is really serious business, and the trio of burger sliders or Bedford Burger. The Sunday Brunch is a treat.

The atmosphere is quite nice and upscale with a clean and modern dinijng area and fast service. This is definitely a good place go go to with a large selection of wines and beers and a tightly crafted menu. I loved the gazpacho and my guest had great crab cakes. My burger was a touch over done for medium rare and lacked the cheese spoken of on the menu. The bun was a bit obscenely large but good. will we go back – yes. The menu cries for more exploration..

My husband made reservations for our date night and we were very excited to visit this very popular restaurant. Let me start with the positive: our food was delicious! Everything about our dinner was divine.
Here is the negative. The big negative. Our service was, well, beyond disappointing. Our server was the bartender and he didn’t know the specials or the menu. We sat for close to ten minutes, waiting for him to even come to take our drink orders while he casually chatted right next to us to an older couple. They weren’t discussing food or the service but how Nate the bartender lived or knew someone who lived in California.
This happened several times. He didn’t check to see how our food arrived. Oh wait, he did, after I ate it. My drink glass remained empty half the time, as did my husbands. The host was more helpful and I wish we could have tipped him.
We had to seek out the host for our check and even then, Nate didn’t bother to finish his service with us.
Next time we will request to be seated not in that section.

Nice atmosphere. Meals had great presentation and taste. Adequate amounts. I suggested to the server that they should have black napkins for those clients that have black trousers and do not want to have white fuzz on their dress pants, that is the reason for the 4 stars.

Great place, lovely atmosphere and the best chicken wings (soaked
In sweat tea) you’ve ever had. A great Sunday brunch with occasional art exhibits in the square. Beautiful outside seating surrounded by exquisite well groomed garden. Worth the drive if coming from surrounding towns.

The quality of the food and service is almost without equal. In multiple visits we’ve yet to be disappointed in that regard. The only criticism I have is that the portion size can be inconsistent. For instance, the shrimp and grits portion size is large enough for two full meals, while the trout with clam linguine is just a bit small for one sitting.

Sublime with a hint of wonder! The filet mignon was the best steak that I’ve have ever had. The dessert was creative and delicious, fun to eat and with Savory and sweet elements. Our server was phenomenal and I would highly recommend this place anyone who’s in the local area or even passing through. If you can make it earlier in the day there’s an excellent selection of cute little local shops.

My wife and I loved our dinner at the granary for their pop up dinner evening October 13th. The courses were all fantastic as expected. The beef Wellington was worth writing home about aka posting a Google review. Thanks for more good FV memories
