Had a nice lunch with my son. He had the green chili burrito and I had the shrimp salad sandwich with homemade chips. We both enjoyed our meal. I would eat here again.
Came back and had a sushi roll, hamburger and crab soup. I found the crab soup too spicy for me. I probably would not order the sushi again. Hamburger and French fries were good.
Came back again and had shrimp salad sandwich which was a bit disappointing. There was no old bay on it and not enough mayonnaise. It was bland. My son had the Parmesan turkey sandwich which he liked. The Parmesan is infused in the bread and it was good.
Came back again and had mahi fish tacos and the turkey sandwich. Both were good. Service was good.
Came back again, Tuesday at 2 o’clock. Very few people in the restaurant. Nice and quiet. Service was a bit slow. Had the shrimp salad sandwich again. It was OK. I think it could use more Old Bay. French fries were just average. My son had the same turkey sandwich again. We do enjoy the pickle . Restaurant is decent. We’ve eaten here numerous times.

We were pleasantly surprised.
The food was great and the ambience was equally great. Someone had mentioned that the ambience was not good enough and it was similar to a cafeteria. I actually almost changed my mind, but I’m glad I did not. I included pictures of the inside so you can see it’s not a cafeteria.
The crab bisque was sooooo good….
The bread was great, we asked for more (there’s an extra charge for extra bread).
The crab cake was really good and it was mostly crab meat. The salmon was equally good.
We would definitely come back.

A recent Saturday night our party of four had dinner at The Gourmet at Kenilworth. The atmosphere was full of excitement with a live piano player! The decor is very modern and artsy, including a large mural of the Chesapeake Bay next to the Oyster Bar. We were quickly seated in the lounge by a cheerful waitress.
We had drinks and ordered our food. The selection was very challenging as every option seemed like a good choice! I chose the special Piedmont Rockfish with gnocchi and vegetables and I had the suggested Chardonnay option, good choice.
Everyone was very pleased with the fresh and flavorful food. When you visit, please save room for dessert!

Please stay away from the fish tacos! They arrived and tasted like they had been sitting on the counter for a week and then reheated. I sent them back. none of the crushes are made with anything crushed in them at all. they are simply ice ,Alcohol and whatever syrup the bartender decides is trendy for the week. Mine was blackberry. My husband and daughter both ordered tuna melts which are very hard to screw up, But they arrived mushy with a slap of melted cheese on top of an unripe tomato. We will not be going back. The picture is of the appetizer portion of shrimp and grits which is Five prawns stuffed on top of cheesy grits with a weird butter gravy poured on top. The best part of the night was the great service we got from a girl. I don’t remember her name, but she was brunette with glasses and friendly . Best of luck to you

The food here was divine. The attention to detail in flavor was beyond my expectations (given the price point). When we arrived, we were greeted and our server shared with us the specials. Our server, Hunter was incredible with the details of what we could expect as far as taste & what suggestions might be better given the details we explained about things we did like vs. tastes we did not want to experience. For example, they have specific cocktails , and once I explained that I did not want a drink that was very sweet, Hunter advised a different type of drink. Additionally he offered to have them adjust the drink if I insisted on wanting that cocktail. Thankfully, I listened and adhered to Hunter’s advice because the drink I ended up getting, “the smoky pear ” was delish. My friend ended up getting the cocktail I originally asked for (the spiced girl), and it definitely was sweeter than I would have wanted. Every single one of us enjoyed everything from our appetizers to our shareables to our actual dinner selections. We will return here again. Five stars

I had lunch at The Gourmet in Kenilworth. This beautiful building offers a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere. My server, Ahava, was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed half of a shrimp salad sandwich, which was delicious, along with a cup of crab bisque that was truly exceptional. I highly recommend this establishment—it truly stands out!

We were planning on going to the Mexican restaurant next door which is mucho gusto. The wait time was 40 minutes so we decided to try out the gourmet right next door. My absolute favorite here was the lamb burger, and the fish and chips. Strawberry mojito was delicious as well this place is a bit pricey but the food is delicious the sushi was not up to par, as the rice was undercooked.
