Stopped by for brunch on the way to Jim Thorpe. Didn’t have a reservation, but got seated fairly quick! Very refreshing and bright atmosphere. The staff and service were friendly but on the slower side. Ordered the raspberry lemon mimosa, lox & latkes, spinach benny, and the panini special. All were delicious and perfectly filled us up. It’s a little tucked away from the main road but definitely a hidden gem. If you have some time, I would recommend exploring this relaxed eatery!!

We came for dinner and had a great experience at The Gorge Eatery. Our server Brittany was friendly and attentive, and everything came out quickly without feeling rushed. The menu appears to change seasonally with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients, and they were very helpful accommodating dietary restrictions. The dishes felt thoughtful and interesting, everything we ordered was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. Someone has a green thumb and there are amazing plants throughout that appear to also be for sale. We left very happy with the whole experience and would gladly come back if we’re in the area again.

Our server, Eliza, was AMAZING! She made our experience absolutely delightful. She is truly a pro. She was so kind and attentive.

And the hostess, Susan, was an absolute gem!

The dinner was exquisite and our dessert was absolutely delectable.

10/10 experience!!!

Delicious food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff! Will definitely visit again.

The burger was amazing, like probably the best I’ve ever tasted.

The blackberry amaretto sour cocktail was delicious.

I was seriously impressed with how the acoustics and lighting are designed. Ambient music is clean and audible without being overwhelming. The placement of plants and decor does a nice job of preventing excessive echo from guests speaking. There are enough soft lights that the dining area is evenly illuminated.

do not book any kind of event here!! My fiance and I planned our microwedding here and were originally so excited to use the beautiful private event room with the rustic/farmhouse vibes. Unfortunately there were too many issues for us to feel safe hosting our big day here. The first part of the process was fine, they have many stipulations such as 100$/hr additional fee for moving tables as well as no outside drinks (these were listed in the event packet so I understood that). I had drove by the hofford mill back in September of 2025 and saw a “for sale” sign on it. I emailed the gorge to ask if this would affect our wedding in ANY WAY, they said no. I requested a call from the event coordinator a few months later (Feb) to iron final details out – in conversation she told me that the building had been purchased and that they were replacing all the tables/chairs, adding a window possibly, and possibly painting. This would completely alter the “vibe” of our wedding venue. This made my fiance and I feel extremely stressed and upset since we had already paid the deposit and finished our invites with all the info for the gorge on it for our guests. I emailed them and asked for a refund of our $500 deposit and listed the reasons as to why. They emailed back telling me that there were “no material changes to the venue, management, or your event reservation that would affect the function or availability of the space for your event.” And refused the refund of our full amount stating that the wedding packet we originally got said non refundable… it didn’t (see below images) I also had another packet and brochure from them, none of which said non-refundable. There also was NO CONTRACT, so no legal reason to hold the money. They offered a $250 refund as a goodwill gesture, however I explained that personally I believe we should still get our full refund due to the fact that no services were rendered and I did my due diligence in asking if anything would change from the sale of the building and they said no months ago. Very stressful and upsetting, has made the wedding planning process harder than it needed to be.

The food was great! We were going to go to McDonald’s but there were no Golden Arches for 40 miles so we hungrily came across the Gorge & we LOVED it. What a treat. The service was excellent. Brooke was super friendly and attentive. She gave all of my siblings and I option of rubber duckies that are so fun. My mom Could’ve spent another five hours in there looking at the resin creations. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the Gorge.

I felt completely deceived by this place after looking it up online. The menu was different from what I’d seen, and the food definitely didn’t live up to the glowing reviews. We went here for Sunday brunch and I ordered the Barman’s Breakfast, and it was honestly pretty blah — the hash browns and cheese sauce were extremely salty, which threw off the entire dish. Everything from the presentation to the actual food was disappointing. I ended up leaving most of it.

They also advertise themselves as dog-friendly, but that turned out to be false in our case. We had two small pups in our group who weren’t allowed in, and since the patio was closed, some of our group had to wait outside and skip the meal entirely. We tried asking the hostess multiple times, but no luck.

To make things worse, my friend, a vegetarian, ordered a salad clearly marked as vegetarian, only to find bacon pieces in it. The server replaced it but wasn’t remotely apologetic about the mistake. We got some truffle fries for the table that were burnt to a crisp and extremely oily. Wouldn’t have imagined that they can’t even get a plate of fries right, but I should have guessed after wasting the hash browns on my plate.

Overall, it was just a really disappointing experience. Between the misleading info, poor service, and below-average food, I am baffled how this place has 4.8 stars.
