The first three things we attempted to order we were told they were out of “because of a slow season”. One was a cocktail from the menu, the chicken salad sandwich, and one of the appetizers on the menu.
We got the fried peppers and pickles, He settled on a burger and I had a Cuban sandwich- also out of the Cuban bread so it was served on some sort of panini bread. The food was ok; it wasn’t necessarily fresh food. It looked and tasted straight from a Sysco truck. It was not the best or worst we’ve had. But $16.99 for a tiny Cuban sandwich was a bit much. I would hope the typical Cuban bread it is supposed to be served on would be a little larger. The atmosphere for a cozy meal would have been perfect. The service was attentive. I just wish they hadn’t been out of what we wanted to order.

Sat outside with friends. Perfect night.
Started with onion rings, they were okay. Not very flavorful unless you dip them in the spicy ranch sauce.
The strawberry frosty lemon drink was really good.
The Rachel was good, but not the most flavorful.
The pepperoni pizza was great. Homemade sauce was very good.
The reuben was a 4 star too.
Brussel sprouts are fried. Fries were really good.

Lauren was our waitress , she was phenomenal !
Very kind , professional and attentive .
The atmosphere was inviting , cool on a hot June day .
I had the bacon cheeseburger , which was a little salty , but besides that , delicious !
My friend had the Reuben , which he said was fantastic !
The potato salad was the best part of the meal !
Would definitely recommend .

Took another trip to Midway, this time to eat at the Goose and Gander!! It was great! The food was amazing, I had the grilled pork chops with apple butter and a side of mashed potatoes with gravy and stewed apples. The Mrs had the fried chicken club and it was huge. The couple with us had the hot brown and the Goose cubano! When we return for another visit we will have to try the pizza, so many tables were enjoying the pizza selections!

This is a very nice, reasonably priced restaurant in a little town in Kentucky known for it’s railroad history. The town has lovely little shops and wonderful restaurants. It’s a tourist trap… But well worth the visit. A couple of other restaurants were very nice too but much more expensive. We said outside and it was wonderful.

The Goose and Gander … tough one. Right there for a 5 star rating, but don’t charge me a $1 for a square cube of frozen water! This said, the food was good, the drinks (with the costly cube) we’re needed and excellent. Got The Brown and it was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their meal and town was old, cute and had something for everyone.

Keep an eye on your food as you eat it! Literally found some human hair, that wasn’t mine & couldn’t have belong to the server, amongst my meal while dining. Pretty disgusting. Will say that haven’t had an (known) issues previously here. Food and people generally good.

Nice lil quiet place. We just so happened to stumble across this restaurant while visiting the art fair in Midway Kentucky . Food and service was great. We both decided to try the angus cheeseburgers which were very good. One of the burgers still had steam coming from it and that was after it was halfway gone. Thats pretty impressive. I tried to capture that in one of the photos. 🙂 Next time we will be trying the pizza.

We try to eat at local places especially one in a historic area. The restaurant is located in a historic building so that was very cool. The old wood decor was nice. The service was great and timely. Looking at the plates of other folks, the sandwiches looked great and they may be the best way to go. Unfortunately, my wife got the meatloaf which did not have much flavor and she did not finish it. The green beans are good. I got the chicken, but it was out of a bag and the batter fell off as I ate it. If you eat here I suggest trying the sandwiches.

Not our first time here and certainly will not be our last.
Both the fried chicken entree and the meat loaf are great.
We just order one of each and share.
If you live within an hour of here, it’s worth the drive.
