Social Profile:

Opened in the spring of 2010, “The Goose” is a renewal of a classic American bistro and tavern offering fine dining, contemporary cuisine, warm hospitality and superb service. It has immediately become a popular gathering place in town reminiscent of its predecessor “The Black Goose Grille”. Its current owners have meticulously restored the restaurant’s original bar and the open fireplace in the tavern which provide a warm and inviting focal point for get-togethers with groups, family and friends. The two additional dining areas combine classic and contemporary design and accommodate dining groups and events large and small.

A contemporary tavern with fireplace, skylights & a 19th-century bar serving upscale comfort food.

Ok. First off, don’t go here for the food. It’s simply bad bar food with a way too long of menu. Nothing we ordered was good and the pizza should be removed from the menu because it’s legitimately a disgrace to the name.

That being said, the people who work here and the bar scene are all very fun. The waiter (again, don’t worry about this because you should NOT go for the food) and bartenders are very nice. Great live music on Saturday night.

We will definitely be back for the fun. But eat somewhere else first.

Food was good but service was horrendous! Server had awful attitude making our dining experience horrible.

They weren’t busy so I’m not sure what happened. Calamari was delicious. Fish and chips was delicious. Chicken Milanese was one of the best I’ve had. Kids meal portions are very generous.

I went to the goose tonight and our bartender Natasha was amazing. She was super attentive and friendly! She also makes great drinks while taking care of the entire bar. Make sure you ask for Natasha when you go to the goose!

Our experience at Goose was deeply disappointing. The restaurant looked promising, but the execution fell far short. The halibut was completely dried out, the ribs were tough and unpleasant to eat, and even the soups tasted like they had been sitting too long. Service was slow, and there was little sign of attentive management on what appeared to be an understaffed evening.

For the prices charged, the quality was hard to justify. It genuinely felt like the restaurant should not have been operating that night if this is the standard being served. What could have been a great evening instead felt like a waste of time and money.

I truly hope the owner reviews what happened and makes the improvements needed — the space and menu have potential, but the experience needs to match it.

We went for a small family celebration. The staff was great, place was clean and the food was very flavorful. It arrived rather quick and was plated nicely. Our server was great. The desserts were delicious. You can take a nice walk in town after your big meal.

My husband and I love The Goose! Food is exceptional and the atmosphere- especially the bar room- is our favorite. Our favorite dishes are the crab corn chowder and the Cobb salad with grilled chicken. Also highly recommend the peach margarita!

Service was unacceptable, Avoid for poor treatment. My experience is mainly fine dining so wasn’t expecting much from the goose. We came for the entertainment and I’ve heard the food is good but the service was terrible. The leather seats in booths are peeled to pieces and the personalities on bartenders are just as worn out. Was trying to have a friendly conversation with the guy next to us who was alone and one of the bartenders yelled at us “enough ! You’re being aggressive! Apparently she thought we were having an argument and made all of us feel so uncomfortable for even engaging and talking with one another, maybe the botox was giving her rbf but there was no arguments or aggression going on just a normal conversation between folks getting to know each other. For the rest of the evening it felt uneasy ordering drinks, 16 bucks for vodka and soda which I kept over tipping, definitely won’t be back , I like to spend my money a bit more high class, not where the staff has overindulged back in their days they project a bad era in their life …the vibe was just heavy and negative !

Waited forever to get served. The bar crew was more interested in people sitting at bar than the restaurant area. We left.

We love spending time with our family and friends at The Goose! The hospitality is off the charts and we have never been disappointed with the food, the beverage selections, or the ambiance. Don’t miss the unrivaled mixology skills of top bartender, Natasha. The only thing better than her libations is her winsome and warm smile. Don’t miss THE GOOSE!
