We had a very pleasant dinner – nice flavors, beautiful presentation, attractive dining room, friendly and helpful service. The fish chowder was outstanding, the crab cake was good (I liked the pickled onions that came with it). The steak with horseradish was good and was a perfect medium rare.

After reading a beautifully written feature on The Good Table in Down East Magazine, we finally felt inspired to go. This spot had been on our list since moving to Maine, and it felt like the perfect time. We booked same-day reservations for brunch and ended up having one of the best brunches we’ve ever had in Maine. From the food to the service and the cozy ambiance, everything was perfect; so much so that I bought a gift card before we left because I knew we’d want to come back soon.
The brunch menu isn’t huge, but it had just the right amount of variety. I ordered the croissant French toast, and my husband went for the burger. Both were incredible. After my first bite, I turned to him and said, “I don’t think I’ve had French toast until now”—it was that good. The cranberry compote on top was *chef’s kiss*. My husband’s burger was cooked to perfection l.
The coffee was amazing, served in the cutest little cup that made me feel like I was at a cabin-themed restaurant tucked in the mountains. The staff kept refilling it without us ever needing to ask. Our Bloody Marys were just as impressive. Everything about the experience; from the warm, attentive service to the inviting, homey vibe of the restaurant; made it feel extra special, especially on a chilly day.
I can’t believe it took us this long to visit The Good Table. I already can’t wait to go back.

The vibes are cute; the food is decent, but not amazing; we got the peccori dish and the broccoli was bitter (maybe that’s how it is supposed to taste(?)) anyhow, we were expecting more based on how the place looks and the price. The service was beyond amazing.

We had the pleasure of having Brunch today at a this wonderful establishment. Service was great. Our waiter was attentive and gracious. He handled to questions with the correct answers. We had a question and he said I am very new and I will check on that right away. Perfect answer! We were meeting new friends and were were left to get to know one another, while he very quitely asked if we wanted a second cocktail. The food well the food was perfect. At our table was a awardwing Chef and self proclaimed Foodies, unbeknown to the staff everything was perfect. My husband had some rather unique request, well done english muffin and soft poached eggs for his Benedict rarely does he get both and today was a 10. Bloody Mary’s were spot on. Thank You We will be back.

Everything was very good. My scallops were a bit overcooked but nothing tragic. Service is great, menu is limited but nothing was not worth having. I took 5 guys here for a business dinner and I was very happy with the value. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

We were visiting Cape Elizabeth and the lighthouse when we stumbled upon this restaurant. The parking lot was packed for a Friday around 1pm. Definitely more of a locals place judging by all the license plates, and by speaking with one young lady inside who mentioned she visits the restaurant often for many years now and most of the customers were local inside.
We were greeted and immediately seated. The food was plenty and delicious. My son ordered the Turkey Rachel, my husband had the Tuna Melt and I had the Haddock sandwich. Everything was wonderful. I will say, neither of us saw the Specials listed on the board on the side wall, so make sure you check that out or ask your waitress about it! Everything on the Specials sounds amazing and we wish we had seen that as I was craving a lobster roll and chowder!

I went here with my fiancé for dinner. We had a great experience. The food was delicious and many of the dishes were unique. Everything we had from the drinks to the dessert was spectacular. Service was friendly and attentive. This is definitely a top tier restaurant comparable to any of the best in Portland. We will be back for sure.
We also spent under $100 each which considering the amount of food we got is a steal. Highly recommend the good table!

Our favorite place for a nice cozy meal. Appreciate large portions appropriate for price. Staff is very professional and friendly. We have sat in dining room and the bar. Really enjoy the cocktail menu, shepherd’s pie, and chocolate pie. Only con is the dining room can be very noisy when busy.

Thankfully, I don’t have to write poor reviews very often. However, this is one of those. Despite the atmosphere being excellent and the restaurant very clean, we were promptly greeted by a host and seated for the reservation we made. Our beverages were great, even the coffee. The highlights end there, however.
It was 10 minutes before we saw menus, about 25 minutes before we could order anything, and 45 minutes before we saw our first sign of food(a dry cinnamon bun). Despite other tables being sat after us and served before us with comparable meals.
I’m not sure if our server was new or having a bad day, but we hardly saw her. Food was delivered by someone else and never came to check on us after that despite the majority of the dining area having cleared out and being one of the last 2-3 tables the server had.
Frankly, an overall disappointment after hearing such good things and seeing people suggest it via social media. Normally, I will give a place 3 chances. However, after driving half an hour just to get there for a 2 hour dining experience, if you can call it that, I guess. We will not be returning.
I hope other people continue to fare better.
For the record, 3 star food means mediocre.
Outreach from the restaurant is not necessary.

Such a gem outside of Portland! We were excited to finally make it over to The Good Table for a Sunday brunch- and they did not disappoint! The Bellini and Bloody Mary were incredible, as was the eggs Benedict and cinnamon bun. The interior was so cozy, in and elevated New England kind of way. Very nice experience, we will definitely be back!
