Intentionally-sourced and yummy sandwiches—they’re on the pricier side ($18-$20), but you’re paying for quality ingredients that include turkey roasted onsite. Owned by a San Carlos local (Austin), it’s definitely worth the splurge!

Stellar bread! As a vegetarian, I really appreciated the roasted veggie sandwich with feta spread on herbed dutch crunch. You can tell the bread is very fresh, and the dutch crunch has perfect crunch. The new decor is very well done and feels inviting. The owner is kind and enthusiastic- looking forward to supporting him! Also tried the white bean soup, gigante bean salad, and brown butter chocolate chip cookie. All delicious!

I had their Smoked Chicken sandwich, a truly wonderful sandwich. The bread is delicious, and the chicken spread is smokey and spicy. Service was quick, and the staff were friendly and cheerful.

Very happy to have stumbled upon this place on my way to another shop nearby. I ordered the roasted veggie sandwich with a lemonade and treated myself to the chocolate chip cookie. The sandwich was delectable- the right amount of feta (for me), veggies were delightful and well seasoned and the bread was the perfect balance of crunch. I could’ve eaten half a dozen of the cookies . The owners and the staff were so sweet. Will definitely be back next time in San Carlos.

Do yourself a favor and run to good life!! We got two hot sandwiches: the smoked chicken & the turkey. Impeccable bread that IMO is 50% the making of a damn good sandwich but the ingredients were so fresh and delicious. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a sandwich this good! We loved the smoked chicken with the red onions, chilis and creaminess but also the turkey stands as a solid turkey sando. When we go back I would order the same exact thing, but we have our eye on the French dip for next time, too. Austin, the owner, was magnificent and everyone was so friendly. Thrilled to have them in this space! OH and the COOKIE don’t miss it

This spot replaced the Sandwich Spot that had been there for years. I don’t eat sandwiches very often, but that used to be my go-to for dutch crunch enveloped goodness. I also used to enjoy their kale smoothies eons ago.

Anyhow, fast forward to this new spot and the menu is much smaller and pricier and gone are the voodoo potato chips, but that makes sense given the healthier theme they are going for. We had the French dip and the hot turkey on dutch crunch and aside from the bread, it was meh. The French dip was less than meh and not really something I would order again. Maybe dutch crunch works against that particular sandwich concept. The hot turkey was pretty good, but I didn’t reach the same level of post sandwich happiness I used to get from the previous establishment.

The place itself is much brighter than before and feels less cluttered, with less indoor seating options but standing is healthier I guess ;). If they expand the menu, maybe I will give it another try down the road.
