Golden Fleece has a great staff that runs the place. Security is on top of everything and making sure everyone is safe and having a good time. Rachel and Chris are the best. They manage the establishment so well. The bartenders are very friendly and very nice, especially Meagan. Definitely a place to enjoy great music and great drinks.

This has always been a great place to grab a beer and relax. I’ve felt that it can get crowded in there sometimes on the weekend (as in you can barely move to the other end of the room) so when they opened up the other side I found myself going more and more to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the ambience versus avoiding it.
The security staff being present now makes me feel much more secure compared to the other places around. I’ve had the utmost confidence that they would not let anything dramatic happen and would shut down anything quickly and so far I’ve been spot on with that. They really should be given a pat on the back for taking it seriously.
The bartenders are a few of the best you’ll find around these parts (I can count those on one hand for the entire state of DE). They have never let me down or made me feel like I wasn’t getting what I was paying for.
My only recommendations:
Having someone handling drinks out back is fantastic but would be much better if they had a bigger selection and the ability to take something other than cash.
Have Grey Fox deliver food if wanted to the Fleece so we could enjoy it on the patio outside there as well if we wanted to.

This was my first time going here. It’s a very inside. I’ve been looking for a place here in Dover to go to for drinks that I’m comfortable being in. So far this is that place.
I don’t like being around customers who can’t handle themselves properly. I just want to have fun when I’m out.

The atmosphere wasn’t my and my wife’s cup of tea… we were hoping for more of a pub feel, but The Golden Fleece felt more clubbish. The bar tender was super friendly, drinks were good and prices were reasonable.

Great place to hang out and drink with your friends. Ive been going there for 8 years. Bartenders are awesome. Music is cool. Theres 3 sections at the fleece. They even have an outside bar patio area. And few games like darts and couple of arcade games.

My husband and I were visiting and decided to stop and have a drink at the Golden Fleece. We were planning on having dinner across the street but the restaurant was closed. We were the only ones in the bar but the bar tender was very prompt and friendly. He put our request game on the TV and offered samples of beers we hadn’t heard of. In the end he offered suggestions on dinner locations which we took and had a great meal. We will definitely stop by for a drink or two when we’re back again.

Staff go out of their way to make your evening enjoyable. Drinks affordable and love playing darts in the backroom. Lo e the outside patio in warmer months. My go-to spot for Thursday nights. You’ll feel like your in the Cheers pub in Boston. Look for Norm. Cheers

One of the security team threw me out of the bathroom a while ago. Ive been back a couple of times and its always been a better experince. My only complaint is that your staff should be a little more LGBTQ friendly . Otherwise I’ve have been back a few times since and i havent had an issue since. Fair prices and good place.

Went in about 15 minutes after opening. The bar tender didn’t even acknowledge I was there, as apparently he was too busy setting up. I was eventually acknowledged by another person with a single word as if surprised to see me (I’ve never been there before). I said hi back and then after she stared at me like I was an alien, I said I was thinking. She went off to another room and I walked out. Not the most inviting atmosphere I’ve experienced. Might give it another try sometime.
