We had an incredible dining experience at The Goblin Detroit! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and every dish was a masterpiece. All were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

Special thanks to their sushi chef, Marco, for the perfectly crafted sushi rolls! If you’re in Detroit and love sushi, Goblin is an absolute must-visit!

Awesome little place just west of downtown. Small place with a couple types of seating. Table, window ledge, and sushi bar. Regardless of where you sit, you’ll have some great food and service. Awesome sushi selection! It’s fresh and delicious. Limited drink selection, but that does not detract from the meal. Not a local, but would definitely go again.

Really good sushi at an unassuming neighborhood restaurant. Stopped on our way to a show at the Opera House, and enjoyed a great meal at a very reasonable price.

We started with some potstickers and edamame. The spicy tuna roll was as spicy as I’ve had. Definitely get the dragon roll, as it was the best bite of the meal. Some happy hour hand rolls made their way to our table, but that’s not my kind of thing.

All five of us were full after spending only about a hundred dollars, including tip. This is one of those places that makes you scan a code and then order and pay online. Considering our server(s) skipped that whole part of the server relationship, I would normally adjust the tip down a little. But my wife was having none of it. Full tip. Which is cool. They’re good folks.

Overall a good experience. Good food. You’ll like it.

We had the crispy spicy salmon, spider roll, mango roll, and chicken gyozas (not pictured). Everything was fresh and delicious!! It was plenty of food for 2 and we spent about $45 on the meal. It was cool to see the sushi chef working too. Can’t wait to come back!!

Picturesque. You’d almost think it wasn’t real until you walk in and it’s like another world. Staff are delightful. They recognize locals and regulars with a warm smile. I wish I lived closer because this would be my new sushi spot. The food is perfect from preparation to presentation and all the way down. Whether you want a 6$ roll or 20$, there’s options in-between. I eat my sushi like an unfed cat, so racking up bills isn’t a problem, it’s expected. Keep this place on your “to visit” list no matter how many times you come back. I gotta do it, they really put the D in goblin….deeeeeez okay I’ll leave

Goblin is one of my go to sushi restaurants! The space is on the small side, but there are seats at the sushi bar and several tables throughout; atmosphere and staff are inviting. The sushi is fresh and their menu has something for everyone. They have great happy hour specials as well as platter/ tray options for larger parties. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the area.

Stumbled across this sushi boutique nestled in Southwest Detroit. Clean modern aesthetics we were greeted by co-owner who was working working! Healthily busy swift personable service with taking order and offers the absolute best suggestions. Tried a few traditional dishes, such as miso and see with salad and also ventured to street food sushi.. high quality sushi with reasonable price tag!

SALMON BELLY WAS INCREDIBLE! MUST HAVE. Be adventurous with the menu. Will return !

I love the Goblin, very reliably good – sweet staff, open relatively late, gluten free soy sauce (and gf tamari packets for takeout)

Friendly, fun place. The staff was outgoing and gave great recommendations. The chef did an omakase and chefs roll for me. All the rolls I watched them make were huge. Excellent choices of sake.

Little gem in southwest Detroit. Usually, I go to southwest for Mexican food but the place pop up and had to give it a try late at night. They close at 10pm.
They serve Korean and Japanese sushi, everything is freshly made and reasonably price. Very bright and white on the inside, not a typical Japanese restaurant design, more like a Japanese convenient store/ cafe type of setup. Better come and try this restaurant before SW get gentrify and more traffic.
